Uh oh, don't look now. More companies increase wages and bonuses because of tax cuts

Wells Fargo (WFC)said the pay hike to a minimum of $13.50 an hour is aimed at attracting and retaining talent, not a response to the scandal.

The increase from $12 an hour takes effect January 8, 2017 (WHILE OBAMA WAS IN OFFICE) and follows similar moves by other major banks, including Bank of America (BAC), amid the improving jobs market

They should have followed what greed did. Pay the tellers on the number of checks they deposit per day and not a hourly wage.

God what I would have given to be a fly on the wall when he sat his men down to give them the new pay structure.

"Now boys, I know I pay you a paltry wage. I don't provide any health insurance, retirement, vacation days, lunch breaks or even words of encouragement. But today we're going to start a new system. I'm not going to pay you anything until the cabinets are installed at the customer's house. At which point I'm going to give each of you a $10 gift card to Go-Mart. Merry Christmas, God bless Xenu, and remember republicans are ruining the country."

No they will now use the tax savings to completely automate the tellers jobs. Hardly any tellers left out there now a days this will take care of the rest of them.

The new pay structure was agreed upon before it was put in place, dog breath. They got paid every single week. And you're a lying moron.

I thought $15 an hour was supposed to destroy our economy. ;)

Christ. Stop suggesting you were “thinking”. Stick with poor attempts at sexually oriented posts.

No one said it would destroy the economy. It’s a fact that this type of inflationary action (wage increases) raises the costs that are ultimately passed on to the consumer of goods and services.

Inflationary pressures can have good and/or bad outcomes determined by what sector/industry is experiencing the cost increases and the business cycles/trends those businesses are experiencing.

No but it will push stores to use more AI which will hurt the very people you seek to help.

Companies will always look at the bottom line. With Amazon and Wal Mart leading the way the 3.5 million people who run a cash register at some store in this nation may be in danger of no longer having a job.

Walmart has lots of cashier's? Here they have like two fvxking lines open.

And this new way of paying sounds fishy to my inner super conservative Evangelical Christian...the Mark of the Beast is coming.

$15 an hour is pretty much starting wage for cashiers and food workers on the emerald coast of Florida. I saw McDs had a sign out for $12.50 an hour starting wage. Sams and bass pro both have signs stating starting wage is $15.
