Veteran's Day

Do you think I care if you believe me or not???

And I'll gladly enjoy my freedoms until the US governments takes them all away. Not some foreign nation

I would dodge and would rather go to jail.

Just wow....

If any of you had any respect for Fever you shouldn't any longer after that statement.

I've seen a lot of bad posts on this board over the years, and I've made several myself, but this is by far one of if not the worst.

You would rather go to jail than fight for your country. That's absolutely disgusting.

Oh I forgot you just keeps it real.

You guys want to fall into the propaganda of the US Government, sure go right ahead but they and the Military Industrial complex are laughing straight to the bank while they ship you to go kill some guy on his native land over the oil he has no control over.

I think many people share your view of government. And an argument can be made that we are, and have been, involved in battles and wars and incursions that have questionable basis. But that does not negate the reality that threats to our country do exit. You can mistrust our politicians and, by association, our military choices and actions, while at the same time acknowledging that same military structure does protect this country (including you) from real current and potential threats. These two ideas are not mutually exclusive; you can hold them simultaneously.

Perhaps the US Government has threatened your liberties. I guarantee, though, that you would have many fewer liberties were it not for this government, and the military that serves it.

Its not the soldiers fault we have threats against our country. Its the government's fault because of our foreign policy over the past decades.

Perhaps our threats have been magnified recently, but our country has had threats not just for the past few decades. Threats have existed to the liberties of the US since before it was the US. I'm not a history or politically science teacher, so I'll leave the lessons for others. But I do have to question the education of anyone who fails to recognize the people of our world, and human nature, for what they are - religiously-fueled, self righteous, greedy, and often violent. Our government did not create human nature, though maybe we have poked a few hornets' nests, and at times given in to our own self-righteousness and greedy tendencies.

The mistakes you made in your earlier posts have been in not acknowledging the necessity of a military force in this world regardless of our foreign policies, and the thank you we all owe those you risk so much to protect us.

Honestly, im not buying that statement in whole. There is evidence worldwide of us bombing hospitals, schools, and homes with innocent people inside. We ransacked a country under false pretenses, pulled a Dictator out of power who actually kept the crazies under control or even jailed or killed them, or just straight up occupied foreign lands. We have financed wars directly or indirectly to fuel our own personal interests. And just ran into countries when our demands aren't met(Grenada, Iraq).

I cant fault people who hate America when they have watched their family destroyed by the US government or have left their country in such ruin and despair that it allows groups like ISIS(funded and equipped by the CIA) to come in and take over.

Russia has crippled ISIS in the past 3 months then the US military has in the last 2 years. Russia bombs ISIS camps and training grounds while we have bombed innocent people

Okay, I can see this is a lost cause. Say, are you on any no-fly or watch lists?

Nope none at all, just a US citizen that is just tired of people turning a blind eye to what is really going on.

I've found it best to keep both eyes open - to better see both sides of an argument.

I am an atheist. My sister, a blinders-on Christian in concern for my immortal soul, once said, "You could be wrong about everything." My reply was, "That's another big difference between you and me...I know that."

I have volunteered before and have sat down with Veterans and too see them not being taken care off by the government makes me sick
Its what you do to help out the black struggle!! SOUP KITCHEN ON MY MAN THAT WILL SHOW THE EVIL WHITE MAN!!!!!

I'm seriously not trying to start a religious argument here. I am a youth pastor and I would say most well studied, logical, and thinking Christians are aware that we could be wrong too. In fact, Paul says in 1 Corinthians that if everything we believe about Jesus is not true than "we are to be most pitied" and our "faith is futile." We just believe in Him. The issue is that a solid portion of Christians you run into are those with blinders on and are arrogant in their faith to the point that it turns others off.

Depends on what you're saying we could be wrong about. There are some things I know.

Sorry to by unclear here. I was talking more about my sister than religion. She's of the blinders-on/arrogant-in-their-everything denomination.

I figured, I encounter these people all the time and they frustrate me. Shoving religion down someone's throat has never worked.

I'm taking a different approach. Fever isn't wrong, necessarily. We haven't directly fought for American freedoms since WW2. Currently, Soldiers and Marines stand ready to fight, and ready to defend. Apply the readiness of our forces and the need for them incase we are threatened, that's why a standing Army is needed.

So the terrorist attack that claimed thousands of lives and changed the entire way we do business in this country now isn't considered fighting for Freedom? I suppose we should've just let Al Queda walk into yours and fevers house right after 9-11 and have their way with you two. May change your tune a bit

That isn't defending Constitutional American freedoms (which is, what I believe Fever is arguing), that's reacting to a direct attack. There's a difference.

Do me a favor, walk into your local recruiting office and tell a Marine recruiter, a Sailor with a Trident, or a Dawg with some jump wings and CIB and inform them of such, just make sure you call your dentist prior to. Your jaw will not function properly right after you do so.

The fvck it isn't, why do you think the Feds want to monitor your cell phones and technological devices? Terrorism and the monitoring of such. That's a direct hit to American constitutional Freedoms.

What freedoms were attacked in Pearl Harbor? That was a direct attack. What freedoms were attacked during WW1?

I've earned my own god damn jump wings and I've deployed to both war zones multiple times. A recruiter can't tell me shit, but I will buy him a beer.

I just think there is a difference of reacting to a direct attack and standing ready to defend Constitutional Rights. Sept 11th wasn't an attack on our rights, it was an attack on our nation. There is a difference.

Which resulted in an attack on our rights.

The attacks on 9-11's main intent was not just for the effect of the initial attack. IT was an attack on our financial and economic system. They didn't just do it to collapse a building and kill a bunch of people(that was part of it obviously) . They were trying to go after our economic system.

I think some of you are perhaps splitting hairs. Regardless a call for retaliation was not only warranted and justified, it was necessary.

IN WW2, the Japanese and Germans had clear intention of trying to take over the world and would eventually have taken over the USA if they could have.

In terms of Fever, if he tried to make a legitimate argument in terms of what wars or action are necessary or what are direct threats, I would listen and say ok he has a point.

But, I really think Fever is a person just takes a lot of this nation for granted. Just my opinion. You don't have what we have in this country without a lot of sacrifice by folks. I honestly think he might think this just happens by magic or something.

Sept 11th was an attack against our economics and infrastructure. The secondary affect was an internal fight against constitutional rights. I doubt those arab cock suckers thought that far ahead, but if they did that's some Machiavellian shit.

I agree with you on that. They were after economics and our infrastructure. I don't think they were after the right to free speech in our country. They were goat ****ers with a plan and carried it out. Regardless, we had no choice but to respond.

Do you think the japs bombed us over our constitution and free speech or our economics and infrastructure?

This is becoming another largely semantic argument. '76 is giving Fever a little too much credit on his "being right" on some of his assertions. Fever simply isn't smart enough to understand the nuances put forward by '76 in this discussion. Fever once again attempted to play "America is terrible" card and was using the military (men and women who CHOSE to serve), and Veteran's day as one of his justifications. Fever is a racist, bigoted, loser who has been shown time and again to be ignorant and flat out wrong on most topics. Lucky for him, some of you volunteered to insure his continued stupidity.

9-11 was an attack on our entire way of life. Our economics, our Christian religious doctrines, our education system, our political system, our laws.....yes, everything that makes up our constitutional freedoms we live under today. EVERYTHING. There is nothing about Western Civilization that they do not want to end, kill, destroy. The men conducting those attacks clearly were small brained Fever types. However, the leaders orchestrating those attacks and directing these morons are highly educated and desire greater destruction to this country beyond "just economics". I am shocked that some do not seem to realize this. Especially a veteran.

Christian Religious Doctrines? Same country that legalized Gay Marriage and thinks it's cool to be gay.

But you guys are missing the point. Iraq and Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. Plus Bush had information it was going to happen and did nothing about it. If anything you can say Bush let it happened so he had an excuse to Invade Iraq to complete his Daddy's mission.

Oh yea Al-Queda isn't Germany or Japan. Their just a terrorist organization, you can weaken the organization even chop off the head but the mindset will live on and get stronger and more violent and more hatred

The thing is Bigot.....it's about freedom. The same freedom of speech that allows you to be the dumbshit bigot you really are.

Nobody is missing the point except you. You cant stay within the context of the discussion.

So, if its just a "terrorist organization" that only gets stronger and unable to be stopped...............How exactly could Bush have "stopped 9-11 from happening"?
