After seeing the news of his transfer and remembering how involved we were prior to him signing with Vanderbilt, I contacted former 4-star WR Jordan Cunningham on Friday. Turns out, my instincts were right on this front. Cunningham replied back saying he's very interested in Marshall because his former HS teammate/QB, Gunnar Holcombe, plays for them. Apparently Cunningham has already contacted Holcombe about his interest in teaming up again as Herd Nation has verified that through multiple sources.
Moving forward, it's yet to be seen if Marshall is reciprocating the interest or not. One source said, they'd be "shocked" if Marshall wasn't interested considering how big a talent Cunningham was out of HS.
In two seasons with Vanderbilt, Cunningham played in 15 games recording 19 catches for 150 yards and no touchdowns. Cunningham took a "leave of absence" in late September from the Vandy Football team citing personal reasons. He never returned to the team after doing so.
Cunningham would have three years to play two with a redshirt available. As previously stated, this is just something to keep an eye on going forward and as always, this stays on Old Fairfield!!!
