Walt Garnett, for some of you old guys

I learned that Walt Garnett passed away yesterday in NMB. He loved the Herd and touched a lot of people everywhere he ever lived. I recall him coming in my office a lot, usually on a break from some tennis game. A real Son of Marshall. RIP.

I spent a fair amount of time in the Varsity and Boney’s with Walt and his crowd. Walt was a pretty good baseball player for Marshall in the 60’s. I rarely heard anybody say negative stuff about the guy, just a good cat to hang around with.

Played softball with Walt during the 1990's. Super nice guy. Prayers to his family.
