Okay guys I love the Planet of the Apes and am going this weekend. Movie is like america today. People split down the middle. Alof of hate and fear and even extincton talked about. They claim this is the final planet of the apes movie. Saw the first one when I was 9 years old. Went by myself and sat on the first row. Now will take grandson and sit on the front row. His first movie. Just like me.

I liked the original. The sequels went steadily downhill, then dropped off a cliff.

The Wahlberg remake was awful.

The latest reboot was ok, and the sequel was ok. I probably will wait to see the new movie.

The musical version on The Simpsons was the superior offering:

I liked the first two and the last one. Yet I watched them all. The first one was great

I like the original; its sequel ("Beneath...") was horr-awful; "Conquest" was ok; "Escape" is arguably as good as the franchise opener; "Battle" was mostly ok and meh is some parts.

The 2001 reboot had potential, and in places, was a pretty decent watch, and as Tim Burton occasionally does, he derailed a promising effort.

Haven't seen (and have little interest) in the most recent reboots.

Someone should persuade (and then give) this franchise to Kevin Smith for a three-picture deal and see what he can churn out. Probably would be interesting.

After the original and "Escape" - this is really the only thing worth repeatedly watching (lots of good memories from Saturday morning toons when I was a toe-headed young'en):
