Well you would never know it but....

We are all happy about the win(s), just concerned with the product down the stretch when it really matters for the EAST and CUSA 'Ship.

From watching the game I don't think we really tried to do much after the first quarter. Look, we have a slew of injuries (hopefully the swede can come back next week) and a freshman qb and we won't play an even mediocre team for another 2 weeks and probably won't play a "good" team until the last game of the year.

The only thing that matters leading up to WKU is that we don't drop another game. We need to be as vanilla as possible and stay injury free winning games (and we should win them easily) going into the WKU game. We did that today, for the most part. So I'm happy.

I would say the only thing that matters is WKU is playing better than us right now and I don't believe we can magically just play well that game. We know we're going to win the games leading up to it, we need to be looking for improvement.

I agree red, Doc knows what we have to do up to the WKU game, and maybe it is just part of his plan to get the W and do as little as necessary in the mean time, but want to see better execution

Thank God we don't play WKU now. We can't expect the D to hold them to 2-3 scores. The offense isn't close to keeping up with them.

MT will be a toughy as well. Remember what happened last time we played down there.

You guys are absolutely right, as we have played on offense recently we look terrible. I also know we have a freshman qb and feel like we are keeping it basic for him now. We will be fine. No need to not enjoy w's because of fear of he future. If you told most herd fans that Foster would be getting the bulk of the carries and Litton was our starter at the beginning of the year, most wouldn't expect us to beat WKU. It is definitely possible. But we will be dogs in that game for sure. I guess my point is, we should enjoy the victories and not worry about what would have happened IF we played WKU today because we didn't. And if we had the game could have gone differently.

Nobody said we didn't "enjoy" winning the game. It was just never a thought that we wouldn't. AND based off of North Texas' body of work, we could very, very reasonably expect to see a complete, well played ballgame by the offense. There's nothing wrong with being disappointed with where the team is at performance wise.

Or the team could take it relatively easy and not risk further injuries after getting reasonably ahead of a terrible team. That was still a 17 point win over a team that scored over half of their points in garbage time. Why open things up for no reason?

LOL, Marshall fans do complain too much, at 7-1 we are still not happy. Ahia is killing us, losing to Buffalo....Lord. When do we finally realize we are their superbowl game. I bet Ahia hasn't had more than 10,000 in attendance since we played them.

I'm actually amazed by this Young Thundering Herd. Foster, Bee, Litton. On and on, the young upstarts have delivered in excellent battling style. Not giving up on a game like Kent that could have destroyed our season, yet battling on to win it showed me the fight in this group of thrown in mis fits.

Love it. YTH2!!!!

I hope no one believes Legg and Doc are going to keep the offense "vanilla" for the rest of the season as a strategy to not show our cards in preparation for WKU.

You have to actually run the other plays in games (not practice) especially with a freshman QB. I do wish Legg would be trying out new plays in games like against North Texas when we can catch up if they don't work.

I am very concern about matching MTSU and WKUs level of intensity. Not so sure we can play a full 60 minutes of high intensity football right now.

Remember last year when WKU came into Huntington fired up and even starting a fight on the field before the game?

We need to do the same. Doc should post all the hype about how we're not going to win in the locker room to get the players pissed off. They will need a huge chip on their shoulders.

You mean where we scored 50 but had no defense like we had all year. Plus we dropped to interceptions on the final drive that would have sealed it the win for us?? MTSU is vastly overrated

FWIW, MTSU has a Freshman QB as well, and they seem to attack with him.

You realize that is exactly what happened last year in the opposite direction right? We were better than WKU all season except for one game where they played their best game possibly in school history... Its football, weird things can and do happen.

MTSU 2015? Meh, not very intimidating. We will blow them out. They certainly do NOT resemble MTSU 2013, when they were playing their 1st ever CUSA games and had us as the Kingpin they had to beat @ their place to prove their worth. Boys, we have a hungry bunch of young Herd and a defense/special teams that will be MORE than enough to handle the next 3. Then we have 10 days (really like bowl game prep, which I am SURE Doc will exploit) of solid preparation/healing the walking wounded/Heater developing a game plan to attack their 80/20 passing offense/the offense having had 3 more games to gel. Then we have Turkey day on Wednesday & travel to Bowling Green on Thanksgiving day. Look for HUGE chips on our shoulders and WKU not having the "have to beat these guys by getting in their heads" advantage. This game is all about getting back home to defend the 'ship on 12/05/15. You think we won't have anything to play for on Black Friday? C'mon, have just a teeeensie bit of faith in Doc/Staff/Team.............
