Feel bad for the kid, was pulling for him to have a good game vs that team. His pick six was after the game was over, and the loss isn’t on him. VT sucks, they have no running game at all and the defense is mediocre at best.

Can’t believe anyone on here would be loving the kids struggle at VT. His parents aided in the decision for him to transfer and the grass wasn’t greener. Hope he turns things around their, but again, he’s on a bad team. He’s only going to be able to do so much.

Literally any player on a bad team can make that claim. He’s not that good. Period. Get over it. He can be not good on a team full of players that aren’t good.

Your heart is so kind… blah blah.

listen, he thought he was big time and he tried to go big time. Come to find out, he’s still trash. He will find out soon enough that he isn’t as great as mommy and daddy said.

I was hoping both teams would lose, but somehow wvu landed a top qb and they’re, unfortunately, going to have a decent year.

I watched the game last night. Wells continue to struggle with accuracy and bad decisions - same as the last 2 years. It makes me laugh because college coaches think they can fix a QB's problems. Some QBs continue to get chances to succeed because the coach thinks they have "potential". If you are good, you are good. If you stink, you stink.

I think WVU and Va Tech both kinda stink. 6-6 feels like the ceiling for each school. Va Tech is likely to be a dog in their next four. The Mounties, as things currently stand, are likely dogs in six of their last eight games.

I do like Daniels, though. He’s good.

Thats the worst Tech team I have seen in years. They've fallen hard.

Why do some people think they have to make up for the inadequacies in their own lives by bashing the failures in young men. He is no longer with us so I just don’t understand it.
So sports fans that root against a guy who quit their team are doing it because of inadequacy in their own lives? Please tell me how one has to do with the other?

Im not rooting against Wells, except next year when they play us, but man he does not look like a D1 starting QB... You can't have Brett Favre's gunslinger mentality with Trent Dilfer's physical tools/skillset.

Looking at VT's schedule 6-6 is their best case scenario and that is assuming they can win four in a row to end the season over Georgia Tech, Duke, Liberty and Virginia. I wouldn't say any of those are gimme's.

WVU is a hard team to get a read on... They look like absolute garbage against Kansas, rumors swirl that Brown is gone if they lose to VT, and then they go out and hammer VT. They are 2-2, but I think their route to 6-6 is actually harder than VT's. WVU has 4 ranked opponents left, and their unranked group isn't nearly as bad as the ACC -- Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU and Iowa State.

Wells - Not a DI-A level QB. That simple. Turned his back on his teammates and his local university. Should transfer down and finish up at UC.

VPI - Made a program killing decision in coaching hire when it went with some joker that had a nice year in the cupcake box that is THE AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!! Success in that mediocre league does not translate, Ask Nebraska. Killed everything Beamer built. Long road forward. Will take a long time to rebuild.

WVU - Don’t buy into the hype about the Big 2, Little 8. Any team can beat any other team, except for Oklahoma. A beats B, B beats C, C beats A, is a sure sign that no one is really any good. The Spamies could go 8-4 or 4-8 depending on a few bounces. It doesn’t matter.

Then why comment or even read the post!
Because “Wells” was a topic shown in big green letters on a Marshall message board. If it were a topic in big maroon letters on a Virginia Tech message board, I would neither have seen it nor replied to it because I don’t follow Tech or their players.

I've always heard it another way....those that criticize sports fans for rooting against certain players or teams do it because of the inadequacy of their own lives. that's how I heard it anyway.

I agree.

Get off his case...he has moved on and made his decision to leave Marshall.

He is a young 20-something guy...enough pressure on college kids today without grown men criticizing him on social media!

Place yourself in his shoes....nobody likes being booed.

Neither team looked very good. Tech made wvu look decent in the second half. Daniels is for a good qb.

Advice from Huff? First I have heard that Huff advised him to leave. Care to elaborate?

My only problem with Wells' departure is that he took a metaphorical dump at the doorway on his way out.

Even jobs you hate, don't show yourself on your way out, because you never know what will happen at the new place you're going to.

I kind of feel his failures at Tech are his actions coming back to bite.

I found it intriguing that when he first came to Marshall he spoke of how Marshall was a dream come true, he grew up watching us, attending games, and always wanted to play here.

Fast forward to earlier this week, WVU was his favorite team, and he dreamed about playing there.

This time next year he'll be talking about how it was his dream to play for Morehead.

Well then last night was a dream come true for him. He threw a pass to a wvu player who ran it in for a touchdown.
Best part about it too, it was so bad and directly right to the defender it really is almost as if he meant to throw it to him.

Morehead is definitely my dream.
