At least Scout figured out that everybody hated their new format so they gave you the option of switching back. This one sucks.
Oh, but look! I can give your post a cute thumbs up! Doesn't that make you feel special? And, supposedly, if I had a Twitter account, I could put my Twitter name on here and link the two.
They could have at least added a character jerking off so I could better relay my emotions about these changes that are supposed to make the board much better, yet make me spend more time navigating to do the things I actually come here for: reading and posting in threads.
I think it's like everything else...it's an adjustment. When I was forced to update iOS on my cellphone I was livid at first. Now that I've grown accustomed to the new format I like it better than the old. I'd give its chance,
Not being able to see who the last post is by (at least on mobile, haven't checked on desktop) is a fatal flaw they have to fix.
The one thing that bugs me so far is I wish the screen name was a little more prominent beside each post. As a someone who works in a design/layout-driven field, that gets a big thumbs down.
That's going to be the first fix. Getting a lot of blowback on the publishers board about that.
I think that's the goal. They either want new people posting or nobody to post so they can just go out of business.
If you prefer using the full site, turn your mobile device to the horizontal. All the features of the full site are usable that way.
