What is the minimum number of players a team has to have on a roster to play a game? Are we approaching a breaking point?

Not even close. Remember, except for Mike Green, the players listed above with graduation next to them are playing in our bowl game.

Also, small note: Carl Chester has no additional eligibility left and is not in the portal, meaning he should be available for the game.

Makes you wonder if Gibson has tapped a few NC State guys to come with him but because he hasn't been officially announced yet as HC, they're waiting?

We should just bite the bullet and trade with JMU. Sounds like they would be more competitive.
I read on at another place that the admin was going to let transfers play in the bowl game if they so chose to.
Any Truth?

That was a typo on my part. It should have read "Graduation".

I'll do better:confused:

That is very different than what is going on here...in fact it's borderline disgraceful you'd compare the two.
What a douche thing to say. Not disgraceful at all. They’re called opinions junior.
I have looked at this pic before, but now notice that the scoreboard operator was so excited he hadn’t yet changed the final score.
The Play was from the Xavier 13 yard line. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to hear the play by play on that one!

Well I was a student during that period. We burying people, not transferring them. No comparison between what happened then and what is going on today.

If you look at the offensive side, most of that production from individuals is replaceable. The harder production to replace is on the defensive side. Finding equivalent replacements for most of our WR/RB production is not going to be that hard. Braxton (outside of the lack of turnovers) can be replaced too. His production outside of the run game can be replaced by another QB. We will miss having a running QB who doesn't turn the ball over though.

But when it comes to defense, yikes. It's still doable but it's a higher bar to clear.

Regardless, I think Gibson can get it done. I'm not afraid of this situation. I don't think we were really a great team despite the success. We had talent that I think never lived up to their potential. We got really lucky this season. Look at where our offense ranks nationally. No one should think it would be tough to replace that. He can certainly do it on that side of the ball.

Good research. That's a lot of production to lose, assuming they all transfer. Maybe some will stay with the Herd.

I actually agree with you 100%. I told someone yesterday that we got darn lucky this season and while we’re a good team, we were closer to last season’s record than we care to admit.

None of the offensive numbers are intimidating. It may even be a blessing to clean house on that side. We definitely needed better WR recruitment.

Borderline disgraceful??? Paying homage to overcoming adversity by using Ernie Salvatore's signature name for Marshall fans and players... Evoking memories of a simpler, and in many ways better, time when there were stronger connections between college athletes and their teammates, schools and fans when the love of the game superseded money and the NIL portal.

You can say many things about me but calling me disgraceful about MU football isn't one of them. And that's a disgrace that you chose to do so.

But we aren't.

But leave it to MU fans saying how they "almost were 7-5."
Never said we were and I’m glad our record is what it is but I’m also not so enamored that I can’t see that we aren’t that far and away from 7-5. We were d*mn lucky to even make the championship game. Sorry you can’t see that.

I’m not and never have been a huge Huff fan but I do give him immense credit for what he was able to do this season. That said, I’m not upset he’s gone because I didn’t like have a snake oil salesman leading our team.

Brad could make this transition alot better by giving coach Gibson a few mil for nil out of his own pocket and letting him go after the half dozen or so that he would like to keep

What's the saying? Good teams find a way to win.
Never said we aren't good. I'm just saying that we aren't nearly as good as some would like to believe. That's all.

We were d*mn lucky to beat JMU, ODU, and ULM to close the season. Any of those three games could have gone a different direction and we wouldn't even be discussing playing in the championship game, let alone a championship.

I don't disagree, just saying the argument often (convenient to the individual's argument) easily spins both directions. I agree that Huff had us playing great in the first half of several games only to see a very frustrating unraveling in the entire 2nd half and feel like we barely escaped. There were several key factors that fell in place this season to get us the conference championship, namely CCU and App both being terrible, which is very atypical. Who knows what we would have done if the SBE was as strong as our first season in the SB.

MU fans: "MU AD needs to do more fundraising with smaller donatable things for us lower paying fans so we can afford to give to MU...bricks for the stadium, or something..."

Also MU fans: "Lets let our enormously wealthy school president cover the cost of the HC salary..."

After what Brad has done and the amount he has given...he doesn't owe MU another dime.

So...

You're saying you're not impressed because MU's level of play wasn't up to par (for your standards) and that they could have been worse...
This is posted NOW since...

Said HC is gone.
The overwhelming majority of the players who could have had the record you speak of, and had the record they currently have, are also gone.

In short, you're bringing up an absolutely useless observation since virtually no remnants of the team are returning.

Furthermore, to you, he's a snake oil salesman because he simply didn't want to be here and somehow that's a crime against humanity...when he actually fulfilled his end of the agreement between he and the AD, WIN.
He also deflected the attention away from his (at the time) potential leaving and saying he just wanted to focus on the title game, which he did and blew Louisiana out of the water in easily the best game MU played all season.

Do I have this right? If so...your logic is...nicely put...very skewed.

Yeah. But on the other hand, we were almost 11-2 but we lost that game to OSU. We were ahead by 7 points with about 55 minutes to play in that game but we couldn't hold on.

Gotta love MU isn't nearly the bad record the fans thought they'd be and they are so unable to accept it, they go to hypotheticals...

If you've been paying attention, you would know that none of my opinions around Huff are new and that I've been vocal about my view of him for many months, some views I've shared for years. Maybe I should post less on the paid forum so I could get you excited more often.

We doesn’t ? I didn’t mean I expect him to give up any more of his well earned money every year He has done enough But he’s already working behind the scenes to keep some players with nil money
Check it out Marshall football is trending at 3 on Yahoo and I actually have sources.
