The answer is obvious. You can’t hop in the car and drive to the Bahamas. I tried once and didn’t make it. On the other hand I have driven to Bahama, NC a couple of times. Why does everyone have this fixation on the Bahamas being some sort of punishment, when 10s of 1000s of people pay big $$ to fly or cruise there, every year, particularly in the dead of winter?
And, getting back to sports, right now you can turn on ESPN and see lots of MAJOR basketball teams in tournaments in places like Las Vegas, Cancun, (normal years) Hawaii, and wait for it, waith for it.
The Bahamas.
In basketball, Louisville, Maryland, Mississippi State, Richmond, Michigan State, Loyola, Auburn, Syracuse, VCU, Baylor, and Arizona State, all played in the Bahamas this year, and if you go back over the last five you can find names like Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Indiana, Kansas, Texas, BC, and pretty much 9 out of 10 of the MAJOR programs in the eastern two thirds of the country.
But somehow a nice football trip to a warm place and exposure to a different culture and way of life is "punishment" in football.
Please.
Well Sam if you have the expendable cash on hand during the holidays (assuming you celebrate them) then good for you. You get to go watch us (if it’s us) play a MAC team. So yes punishment or don’t you think the other conference would want a piece of the Bahamas? Why does everyone have this fixation on the Bahamas being some sort of punishment, when 10s of 1000s of people pay big $$ to fly or cruise there, every year, particularly in the dead of winter?

The Bahamas are slightly better than Honduras but they are an island with a big fancy hotel or two. Plus with Covid variant 14 omnicron that came from China and restrictions and such who wants to fool with it.Why does everyone have this fixation on the Bahamas being some sort of punishment, when 10s of 1000s of people pay big $$ to fly or cruise there, every year, particularly in the dead of winter?

You did SEE our game yesterday, right? The answer is obvious. You can’t hop in the car and drive to the Bahamas. I tried once and didn’t make it.
We have been down this path before. Other than the "access bowl" the bowl matrix for ALL FIVE of the G5 is pretty much the same. We play either one another or the 6th or 7th or lower finisher in a P5 in a obscure pre-Christmas bowl.So yes punishment or don’t you think the other conference would want a piece of the Bahamas?
Spoken like someone who’s never been to the BahamasThe Bahamas are slightly better than Honduras but they are an island with a big fancy hotel or two. Plus with Covid variant 14 omnicron that came from China and restrictions and such who wants to fool with it.
If the players enjoy it then let them have it. We can watch it on ESPN 8 or Facebook Messenger.
Or Honduras.Spoken like someone who’s never been to the Bahamas
Peace out thunders. Go be a fan of someone else thenWho cares? We freaking suck and don't even deserve a bowl game. Crowd sucked, team sucked, coached sucked. Embarrassing. And we will get embarrassed in a bowl too
If only your mom had sucked, we wouldn’t be stuck with you.Who cares? We freaking suck and don't even deserve a bowl game. Crowd sucked, team sucked, coached sucked. Embarrassing. And we will get embarrassed in a bowl too
I have been there and Honduras. I can go to a beach or hotel anywhere and if I want to go to a foreign country all I have to do is go to Florida.Spoken like someone who’s never been to the Bahamas
Been to both. And, Italy. Once was enough.Or Honduras.
Average income in the Bahamas is on a par with bottom tier European countries like Portugal, Italy, or Greece. Honduras is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere.
That would make some heads spin around like the Exorcist on here.hahahah247Sports has us playing Liberty in Boca Raton... I don't think that is a very good matchup for us.
Shit. Does Sammy the Loser even go to home games? So Sam do you plan on going to the Bahamas IF that’s the bowl we get? Bet you will be in the minority of Herd fans who go.
The playoffs and “New Year’s Six” are on ESPN Sunday against the NFL pregame shows. The rest of the bowls will be released one by one on the internet during the early game. Should know no later than 5 Sunday.Any idea on when the announcement will be made?
