I’m excited, but as the series got more fantasy/LoTR and less scheming/House of Cards I’ve liked it slightly less.

Still it remains my second favorite series ever behind The Wire.

I am, I just started watching last year though. Binged the first 7 seasons the past 6 months to get caught up.

1st episode was fine but the cheesy factor was off the charts and the dialogue feels rushed/trite.

I’m still into it but it confirms my thoughts that we’re not close to the level of TV we saw in season 1-3ish

First episode was not a promising start. Like most series that last this long, the quality has slowly started diminishing around Season 3 or 4.

They had to cram a lot into the first episode (reunions) to get all the drama out in the open early in the season. Gotta wrap this up in 5 more episodes. Four, really, considering episode 3 is supposed to be the Battle of Winterfell.

I think the less they can rely on Martins writing , the more the quality suffers.
