Just beat wvu...

Not sure if wvu is bad or WKU is the real deal...or a combination of both?

I think it’s a little bit of both. WVU hasn’t looked good in their 3 games. WKU is going to be a tough task for us again this year. They are very long and that 1-3-1 trap they played caused a good bit of turnovers on WVU last night. Their have a couple of tall guards and their starting PG is suspended but should be back before we play them.

The one issue they seem to have is they can’t feed the ball to Bassey in the post. If they figure that out against us, we’d better be shooting a good percentage from 3.

The starting WKU point guard won't regain eligibility until the next semester. They will be very tough to handle.

WKU took WVU out of there Pressvirginia!
WKU’s Bassy, 5star freshman big man 6’11” with a 7’3” wingspan 245 lbs. is the real deal! Very poised and relaxed, didn’t look like a kid that just turned 18. 15 rebounds, 13 points and a Huge one handed rebound slamdunk in one of WVU’s defenders face!!!

Coach D’Antoni said that CUSA may be able to get 3 CUSA teams to the big dance, if they take care of there ooc games!
Go CUSA
Go HERD!!

CUSA is a one bid league.

Other than that, it is a combination of both. WKU is pretty good and WVU is over-rated.

And we will probably have to play WKU FOUR TIMES!!!

I watched La Tech give LSU all they wanted. Our league is the best it has been by far since Memphis left. FAU beat a very good UCF team in Orlando last week.

Yep, WKU plays UCF for the Myrtle Beach Invitational champion game Sunday 6:30 pm on ESPN2. Gonna be a good one to watch!
Looking for WKU to win!!

WVU is solid.. WKU is very very good and a lot better than they were last year.. agree with their preseason #1 Cusa ranking.. it will be a battle

Don’t sleep on So Miss, UNT, UAB, & UTSA either. The conference is going to have some good teams at the top with some depth too. Best it’s been in 10 years.

Theres no way CUSA gets three teams... Two is possible... Primarily thanks to some of the other mid major leagues slipping a bit this year.

WKU is a very talented team, finding a way to split the two scheduled games with them would be huge, especially if we get them a third time in the "flex schedule."

CUSA will be a 1 bid league, look at last year, MTSU owned good wins etc, got screwed as a bubble team. WKU had some nice wins, got in NIT instead, who then went on to the semi finals, both those teams deserved an at large bid. The committee doesnt care about all that these days, they want the Oklahomas etc who didn't earn an invitation just for a matchup that they think people will watch........that much was proven last year

their shooting woes caught up to them, last night vs. UCF. After beating wvu shooting 33% from the floor, they lost to the Knights while shooting 40%

Remember when UAB knocked Memphis off in the CUSA Title game forcing the committee to take two CUSA teams. They were not happy about it. All they did is complain UAB being there. Either us or WKU would need to be ranked in the top15 and have our only losses coming against each other in the regular season and the title game for us to have a shot at getting two bids.

When it comes down to it, the NCAA will ALWAYS take the 8th place loser from a big conference over the 2nd place team in a mid-major. We can win every game by 20, including UMd, UVa, and TAMU, and lose the conference final by 1 point in triple overtime and that would equal NIT.

Unfortunately, in most cases, you are correct. The only exception is if a Gonzaga or Wichita loses in their conference tournament.

From Wiki:

On July 7, 2017, Hennssy Auriantal, Bassey's legal guardian in the United States and assistant coach at St. Anthony, was dismissed from the school's program. In August, it was announced that Bassey would leave the team as well, with his immigration records being transferred to DeSales High School in Louisville, Kentucky. For his junior season, he began playing for Aspire Basketball Academy in Louisville, while attending school at DeSales. On June 14, 2018, Bassey reclassified to the class of 2018 and announced his commitment to play college basketball at Western Kentucky under head coach Rick Stansbury. When asked about Bassey's recruitment, Stansbury said, "Why shouldn't a young man go somewhere where he has a chance to be special and be impactful. That's what we sold him on."

Pitino doesn't get pinched, this kid is making double whatever WKU is paying him. At least. Poor kid.
