That's the problem in a nutshell, they don't care about the state. I was glad to see the republicans gain a majority, but hell, they haven't done shit either.

D and R mean nothing in WV. Once upon a time D at least meant pro-union, but the Democrats are the ones that let Big Coal run the UMW out of the state.

Yup. First amendment guarantees right to petition the government for redress of grievances.

If you don't like lobbyists, either hire someone to lobby the counterpoint, do it yourself, or vote out the politicians who side with the lobby you don't agree with.

But you can't just "outlaw" lobbying.

I don't like that "lobbying " has become a dirty word. What people really need to focus on are the methods.

I don't mind actual policy wonk lobbying. I've been up and close and personal in Charleston...wonks are rare.

They should have to wear logos on their suits like a Nascar car with their sponsors on it. So in that regard I probably agree with this lady.

But like Herdman is saying, I'm not sure if they're any better off getting rid of them.

They need radical change in WV. I mean radical. I've said it before but they're probably too late for it...WVU and Marshall and the state should have fired up a HUGE marijuana horticulture program and offered degrees and published many studies about marijuana versus opiates for pain control. Should have become the academic marijuana center of the world. Should have promoted tourism to come ski and do hippy outdoor stuff and get high in WV. I've never touched marijuana in my life but this seems like a good idea to me...what have you got to lose?
