Your God Executed 13 Bad Christians Yesterday

Correct. Everyone either has been or will be "executed". You may be the next. Or me.

Well, I think it is a sad and terrible tragedy. Why post something like this and try to make it a controversy?

How is it a controversy? The resident scientologist/christian agrees.

Your kind has no problem claiming that your god is solely responsible for the good things that happen in life. He shouldn't be immune to the bad things that happen in life, especially those that are accidents (but is it really an "accident" if your god is the only one who gets to use the Nintendo controls?) instead of choices.

They all had choices. None of those killed had to get in a vehicle and drive down the road. Choices end when you die.

They chose to take a very safe mode of transportation to help spread their god's word. He decided to punish them for spreading his word by executing them.

Ahhh, ain't religion grand?

I imagine all the people that died on 911 took safe modes of transportation to work. God punish them for going to work by executing them?

Ahh, aint' atheism grand?

The notion that God "executes" people is absurd, and, frankly, an argument that is beneath you. Everyone dies. No one is promised another breath. No one. To act like people die because they are "good" or "bad," "Christian" or "atheist," or whatever other qualifier you want to apply, is a ridiculous premise. In light of the above, it is equally ridiculous to argue that God caused someone to die "young," "before their time," or "tragically," as we define those concepts.

God doesn't "cause" death. Death is a part if life, by virtue of man's inherently sinful nature. Good, bad; young, old; healthy, sick - it doesn't matter. You and I will die. We know the why. And, although important to our families and friends, the when and how are irrelevant in the overall scheme of things.

What the fvck world do you live in? Your god, based on your own religious text, executed hundreds of thousands of people. He has complete control of the Nintendo controller whenever he wants to take it. If he supposedly can spare and save people's lives, he most definitely can also terminate their lives.

So, the fetus that is naturally aborted after a couple of days of conception . . . it is paying for its "life", according to your argument, because a dumb bitch bit into an apple thousands of years ago?

You aren't able to do this, but remove all religious thoughts from your head: the two day old fetus is being aborted and losing its "life" because a woman thousands of years ago took a bite out of an apple. What a pathetic, unforgiving, and vengeful god and religion.

Fvcking naive barbarians; every single one of you theists.

Just because you don't grasp the purpose does not mean that there isn't one.

Oh, I grasp the purpose. They needed an entertaining superhero story to control the masses. I just can't believe how many hundreds of millions around the world fall for the same similar stories with different gods.

He has complete control of the Nintendo controller whenever he wants to take it.

Nope, you have it all backwards. God built the Nintendo and handed the controller to YOU. The Nintendo is perfect, so is the controller, it's you and every other human that's imperfect. You THINK you are refusing to play the game pre-loaded into the box, but you are not. One of the rules is that you ARE playing the game, the one pre-loaded in the box, regardless of all else. Furthermore, God provided a cheat code guaranteeing you win the game IF you use the code. I KNOW I'm playing the game, I KNOW I have the cheat code, I KNOW I'm using it. I KNOW how the game ends for me IF I continue to use the cheat code.

Greed is a cheater and has a one way ticket to some imaginary land called hell, a place that's run by a dictator who dresses in a tight red polyester suit, and walks around carrying a pitch fork. But, he can repent his many sins by getting his head dunked into a creek in order to avoid a one way ticket to hell. If that's not a viable reason to give all of your expendable income to Hubbard, I'm not sure what is.

Even Gary's Weenie couldn't come up with a ponzi scheme that rivals this one.

Who are "they"?

Many believe that Roman Emperor Constantine used Christianity to unify all of the many religions that were being practiced at the time. Many of the religions had a virgin birth and crucifixion element to their belief. But I would believe that religion prior to Christianity was born out of man's natural tendency to explain things they don't understand rather than to control the masses. Not that it wasn't used later for that purpose.

Just curious, but do you fear death? I would think an atheist would be absolutely frightened at the thought of dying as there is nothing else beyond that.

The Nintendo is perfect, so is the controller, it's you and every other human that's imperfect.

"Perfect," except for the wisom teeth, auricular muscles, coccyx, appendix, nipples on males, and many others that serve no purpose other than to be remnants of our evolution . . . err, "creation."

My god would be ethical and not so involved in cheating. Of course, this is the least example of poor ethics shown by your god. He has done far, far worse.

"They" refers to rulers of the time, whether that be Constantine or somebody else.

Perhaps, but that doesn't account for the blatant fabrications and embellishments in religious texts instead of backstories to explain the unexplainable (at the time).

I definitely don't look forward to it, but "frightening" isn't the word that accurately reflects it. There is nothing to be scared about other than missing what you already know the world to be.

What happens to that ant when it gets stepped on? What happens to the blade of grass when it dies? The same thing happens to humans. We are no different than any other living thing when it comes to death. You simply will cease to exist with no mental capacity, so there is nothing to be frightened about in that context.

Your belief about being frightened is exactly how your religion intended to control you. If you don't toe-the-line, you will have that frightening possibility of eternal damnation.

Let me summarize the atheist fable. You boys sprouted from a mud puddle.
Thank you for all the wisdom you bestow upon us peons, we are truly lucky. Can you summarize the Scientologist fable next?

Are you saying Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?

I actually don't think in terms of going to Hell, so that idea doesn't frighten me. I just think of it being a huge downer to just die and then there's nothing else after that, forever. At least with faith in an after-life, there is some kind of hope for more.

What about being reincarnation? You have your pick. Would you choose to come back as Greed? Herd Fever? Sweeney? or a black snake in the grass?

You gave him the option of being Herd Fever or a black snake in the grass? Isn't that like asking if a kid wants to play left field or play in the outfield?

The point of placing the snake in the grass as an option was to make the selection much easier, because nobody would want to return as options A, B, or C.

The nipples in people like you are still in their evolutionary stage so you can breast feed later.

You god is a liar, and the father of them. tadpole

Atheism and evolution are belief based and always remain so. Christianity starts out as a belief system but knowing takes place later. Scientology is not a belief system. You are unfortunate in that you have little understanding.

That's cheating. All conservatives would have chosen the snake in the grass, it's what they most closely align with.

So, your belief in a higher power is based on what is comforting to you instead of what is logical and supported by fact? Actually, that is why many people believe; it is comforting to them.

That is why for fifteen years on here I have claimed that religion is a crutch for the weak-minded. Regardless if you need that crutch to get you through tough financial or health times while living or whether it comforts you to think that there is an afterlife, it is a crutch.

Hell, I would love to have a continued afterlife after dying. But it doesn't happen, and I can't fake my mind into believing something just because it is comforting. Being sure that there is no afterlife forces you to make the most of your time living knowing that there is nothing else . . . but take that with a grain of salt, because it is 3 pm and I am still in bed.

This shows a huge lack of education on the topic. You may want to learn about the scientific method. Atheism and evolution are not belief based. They are supported by fact and peer reviewed for decades.

No, it doesn't.
Atheism is not science based. And neither is evolution when discussing such matters with an atheist, since an atheist version of evolution has to include the BELIEF that life on earth originated from inorganic matter.

Two glaring logical flaws with your argument:

1) Your claim that evolution isn't science based for atheists because of a certain belief they have. What you fail to realize is that they are atheists, many times, because of results of science. It doesn't matter who you talk to; the belief in evolution is completely science based.

2) Your attempt to claim that it is a "belief" that life originated from inorganic matter is as ridiculous as claiming that it is a belief that gravity exists. You can't compare theories that are accepted by peer review with having faith in something that has absolutely no evidence.

That's the thing you creationists can't seem to grasp. Your belief inevitably falls back on faith with no proof or scientific basis. Evolution is a wide amount of proof based on science.

Greed, the only higher power that means anything to you is whether you can make your spider man super power penis be able to look big within your own little hands.

What does Hubbard think of that?

Does he ask you to submit a greater percentage of your income to protect you from the mean man wearing red tight polyester pants? Or, do you simply send in the check because you think it makes you feel like you're holy?

Just trying to figure this all out. Tonight, I went out and spent about 150.00 on our dinner. Hubbard got nothing. I'm still feeling good about the the great steak and lobster tail. What's Hubbard doing with your money? ....other than protecting you from going to see the dude in red tights?

I would have to say the original post is the most assignine(sp) and intolerant thing I have ever heard coming out of any human beings mouth.
