another aside....I see a lot of dying people every day.

You know what they're proud of? Their kids. Especially when their kids are there helping them die with dignity. When we make small talk it's usually about their kids or spouse, not their job.

In different phases of life we are happy/fulfilled by different things. At 22 all I wanted to focus on was med school, not sure I wanted to hear about family stuff at that time (though I always envisioned havin ga family). A 22 year old female college graduate may not be fulfilled by a baby versus a job in marketing....but when you're 50 things change.
