Blind, Deaf, and Dumb

I am in a Phoenix hotel before flying tomorrow to Mexico City, first-class, because ya' know, rich. While watching the local news, they had segment on attendees at a trump rally going partially blind. So we have the dumb part. We have the blind part. How long until they become deaf, deplorables?

On a side note, I don't know how anybody who lives in this state deals with election season. Watching local channels tonight reminds me of when I used to spend so many nights here during the last election cycle. It's awful here. Every other commercial is for Kari Lake, against Kari Lake, for trump, for Kamala. They just had four political ads in a row, and they are getting good to the extent that they don't give you hints about what type of ad it is for the first 15-30 seconds of the commercial.

Daily News Record (covers JMU): Want realignment answers? First, let's ask the right questions

Interesting piece here.

Couple takeaways:

* Writer claims the SBC told JMU and App State they were were by far the most visible and valuable brands in the Sun Belt.
* If Memphis and Tulane leave the AAC the SBC's leadership is poised to make a push to move the SBC up the G5 food chain.
* ECU is a top target and would listen if the tv money worked out (or dried up with the AAC).
* UTSA, South Florida and UAB mentioned as other SBC expansion targets from the AAC.

About last night - Ohio State edition

I meant to write my recap yesterday but after traveling it just slipped by me... Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Herd's loss at Columbus on Saturday afternoon.

Let's start by stating the obvious, this game didn't teach us much because as expected OSU had better athletes across the board. There was no amount of Xs and Os that were going to overcome the difference.

The positives -
• The QB debate is over (or at least it should be for now)... Earle played a really good first half, he looked more comfortable than in the two previous starts. It's clear he is the #1 guy.
• Offensive line play... We didn't know what to expect when the season began, but they've been solid so far.
• We cashed a big check this morning.

The negatives -
• Secondary issues... Good gracious. I know OSU has two first round WRs and two NFL level backs, but there were plays where it looked like an NFL team playing a high school squad. We didn't cover much of anyone, and our safeties were nonexistent in both phases, the run and the pass.
• Linebacker play... Again, talent gap aside, our guys got their lunch money taken every drive for four hours.

The ugly -
• Officiating... The refs didn't cost our guys the game by any stretch, but they were bad all day. Took forever to make a call, wasted time on needless reviews of obvious plays, etc.
• The heat... It shouldn't be that brutally hot in Ohio in late September.

Next Saturday we start a very important three game stretch... If this team is going to make a bowl game they are going to need Ws in two of the next three. Hopefully we get a little fall weather for tailgating and we give Western Michigan hell!

Pedo-Joe attacking people of faith....

Yes, @extragreen, your messiah, Pedo-Joe, is attacking people of faith. This is the guy you support.

Pedo-Joe’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently struck yet another blow to conscientious Americans when it amended rules pertaining to Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act to require people of faith to fund elective abortions and transgender surgeries through their health insurance.

Consequently, believers are left with no other option than to either withdraw from their insurance providers entirely or unwillingly participate in procedures antithetical to their sincerely held beliefs. But patients and insurance holders should never be forced to pay for health care products and services that violate their faith.

Priorities

In the spring, a new family moved into the vacant house closest to me. Filled the yard with junk for the kids, but they cared little for the yard and seldom even mowed it. The place is slowly turning into an eyesore.

Yesterday, I noticed they were hard at work on the yard. Cleanup? No, they have discovered Halloween. Cheap blow up decorations, rope spider webs, yellow police tape, stuffed creatures of all sorts. And many light up. All they need now is the creature from the Black Lagoon for their inflatable pool.

This seems to be a work in progress so I’ll post some pictures once they finish.

IT'S BEEN 7 MONTHS...

since I reminded Snotlicker about the bet he promised me. You think I should give him more time or just let it go??

Then Trump in 2024 will be a landslide, and I got first dibs on a bet with greed over a perma-ban.
