Putin's an asshole and ruthless. He is a Soviet style communist at heart and wants to be the next great Russian leader like Peter The Great or Stalin . He wants to expand and in their words "protect" his western front from invasion(according to long Russian doctrine and thought). Through the years, the Russian if i heard right have fought 16 wars against Poland. They have fought for hundreds of years in Ukraine. They have been invaded by several countries. Germany, Poland, France, etc. There is a long history in that part of the world. Good, bad, or indifferent, it is what it is. You have to understand what and why they are fighting is important.
Issues with Ukraine. They are inherently corrupt. Facts are facts. How is our money being spent and our weapons being used. Two, like it or not we have a history of supplying weapons to people that screw us(or we screw them) and those weapons get turned on us at some point. Will that happen with Ukraine? Yes, that is a legitimate strategic concern.
Finally, for people that think we are arming Ukraine and sending aid for a noble cause of freedom fighting. Horseshit. We do it because those in charge(right or wrong) are doing it for our best interest(right or wrong). We are fighting a proxy war against Russia. It is not about freedom fighters in Ukraine.
