If my records are correct........as of today there have been 10 teams lose that ranked in the AP top 25 (or others receiving votes that were mentioned).
3 teams were ranked above us and they are Nebraska, Louisville & LSU. There will also be 3 others ranked ahead of us who will lose today. I say we will definitely move into the top 25 (maybe even around 16 to 20) after the games on Thursday & Friday.

Even though I don't see how you can justify placing an 8-5 team above a 13-1 team (even with a weak schedule), ND did just beat #23 LSU. Given the hate-on everyone has for G5 teams not named Boise or ECU, I could see it happening.

No way ND, Memphis, or Stanford jump us in AP/USA polls. Right now I say we are no worse than #24 and could jump as high as #21.

So many teams ranked 20-25 and receiving votes have lost that it is entirely possible that a ND or other team could sneak in to top 25 especially if Boise and Minnesota lose but I doubt it will be at our expense. ND, after all lost 5 of it's last 6 games before bowl including a home loss to 5-7 Northwestern.

But someone has to finish ranked.

For example in one poll the Herd is 28th with Minn and Oklahoma directly ahead.

Oklahoma got waxed and in same poll ranked 20-25 Nebraska, Louisville, and LSU all lost.

Behind us but receiving votes teams Duke, N. Illinois, WVU, UCF, Colorado State, Cincy all lost too. Only teams behind us that won are Memphis and Air Force....neither of which was that impressive.

Which is why I think we are 24th at worse and 21st at best if AZ and Missouri win and Auburn beats Wisc by 4 td's+. #25 Utah will stay ahead of us after waxing Col St. If MU finishes 22nd I would expect 2-3 teams to sneak in out of Memphis, ND, Texas A&M etc but I think they will be well behind us point wise

The only way Marshall gets into the top 25 is using the "king of the hill" rating system where if you win you move up and if you lose you move down. If you look at teams that you could actually beat or compare who is the best team Marshall would be in the low 30's or 40's at best.

Let's say for the sake of argument that Marshall is the best G5 team which is probably not true (Boise) Start with the SEC. Vanderbilt is the only sure win with KY being a toss up so that leaves 12 teams in the SEC that are better. In the PAC 12 Colorado, Wash. St, and Oregon are wins with Cal being a toss up. That leaves 8 teams in the PAC 12 that are better. In the ACC only Wake and Syracure are probable wins with VA being a toss up. That's 11 teams better. Big 10 gives you Perdue as a win and Northwestern and Indiana as toss ups. That's 11 teams that are better. Big 12 wins would be Iowa St. and Kansas with Texas Tech being a toss up. 7 teams better.

If that were true then there are 49 teams better than Marshall. I could be wrong and no one will ever know because they do not play the games. That is just my opinion and opinions are like butt holes..... Everybody has one and most of them stink!
I would like to hear other honest opinions but after reading this board for years now...... I'm ready let the beatings and insults begin.

You are either a class A troll or totally clueless. Now go away whatever you are smoking is making you make yourself look bad. Marshall a Top 25 team period. That means we are considered better than at least 104 other D-1 schools

If they signed up on anywhere but here, I call them suspect. Like I said, uspam trolls are like radical muslims, worthless and multiply like rabbits.

Clueless. Considering a highly regarded computer simiulation system said that we would have gone 12-1 with Florida State's schedule and that FSU were essentially a FG better then us, then I figure we would have done perfectly fine against and are better than around 95% of the schools playing at the FBS level.

That's a ridiculous assessment.

I'm a South Carolina fan as well as Marshall. The Herd may well have won the SEC East with Missouri's schedule and your evaluation of the ACC and B1G is assinine.

Back to the Blue Lot troll.
