I believe the field was really independent of the rest, it seemed that way anyways.
As I have said, and will say again...
It is very unlike Hamrick to mess up a construction of a facility the way this was, entirely on his own.
Bad hires? Yes.
Not always PR friendly? Okay.
Terrible at building facilites? Hell no.

Name a facility he DIDN'T set out and build, minis the field? He always built top notch buildings and never seemed to come up short.

Given the timeline, the dissention in the MU BoG (because they wanted him out, as did plenty of you), a miscalculation of funds/cost for construction, and various outside factors it basically puts together, well, a collection of everyone's reasoning for it happening.

Personally, I think the MU BoG wanted a field built, just not by him, and it showed.
We’ll never know the true story. But that chapter is in the books and we are turning the page. I look forward to attending the home opener in the new stadium in the spring of 2024.

Agree. I hope it's an RFQ. The way Spears and Smith have spoken seems to indicate it will indeed be an RFQ and Proposal process. Which will be the best way to get a quality stadium within the time and budget allotted. I refer to the High Point Rockers stadium. A project headed by a Huntington native and Marshall grad. They did a design and build process with a contracting group - came in on time and on budget.
I will say this about that: The Rockers stadium also had the benefit of the involvement of HPU’s President Nido Qubien, prolific fundraiser & builder of about a billion dollars of construction on that campus. He almost single handedly convinced HP leaders to approve part of the funding, saying he would raise, like $50 million in 30 days. And he did. Huge * on the Rockers construction/completion…..
