Renewal packages are out for our homeless baseball team.

New deal this year. In place of the old season tickets you get a "Olympic Sports Flex Pass" which is good for 25 admissions to the 16 games in any combination.

Games are March 13-15 UTSA in Beckley, 27-29 FIU in Charleston, April 10-12 UNCC in Beckley, 24-26 MTSU in Charleston, 28 USPAM in Charleston, and May 8-10 WKU in Charleston. The MTSU and WKU series are doubleheaders with the Power and you can stay for the Power game for free.

The first line in your post speaks volumes. One of my first posts on this board had to do with the Herd baseball team. Sure wish there was an on campus or even local facility where the Herd can play consistently. I've been spoiled down here with the FSU baseball team. Only sporting season tickets I get. With a potential move to Huntington, I was hoping to do the same.

ggmike, I agree with you. I hope MH honors his word to build a new ballpark now that the IPF project is almost complete.

While the games in Charleston are not ideal, the drive to Charleston isn't that bad, especially to come support the oldest sport at Marshall. The park is nice and the quality of play in the CUSA is good. Also any day at the ballpark is better than a day at the office. :)

I hope you can make it to some games once you are settled in the area.

I hope MU doesn't do something stupid (imo) and use valuable space for a baseball park that could "more wisely" be used for a future replacement for "The Cam".

Again IMO if we had a baseball park at MU we wouldn't average 500 per game.

Using the land currently occupied by The Cam is the only logical place for a new arena. That would help keep costs lower since land wouldn't need to be purchased. Also during that process, the teams could play at the Big Sandy Arena until the construction is finished.

However my guess is we won't get a new basketball arena for quite sometime.

I agree. I'd rather drive 1 mile to MU campus for a game but Charleston isn't a bad drive and the park is great. Much better than we would ever have in Huntington for a "Herd only facility". Maybe if the city and MU build one together it might be as nice as APP. Most likely if the city attracts a minor league team it will be a short season league and thus I doubt they would build a facility as large as the one in Charleston. It wouldn't be necessary.
