Blake started at UCF and done a great job his freshman year. This kid has a motor and passion for the game, could grab some serious playing time. Ryan tall and can knock down passes and could get to the QB with his long arms.

We are going to need them because we need to get more pressure on the qb. Contending for the conference championship next year could very well depend on our ability to get to the WKU qb.

We still have Gary Thompson and Ricardo Williams will more then likely be moved back to DE with the 2 prop DTs starting this spring.

Don't forget Jerome Dews and Aaron Plant at DE as well

Doesn't matter what the issue was, I'm glad we have him George O. Wanted him to stay he knew he was going to be a really good one. Now we have him.

Next season is going to come down to three things...

1. Offensive line play -- Need to get guys on the same page this spring because that group is losing three very good players.
2. Defensive line play -- I know we have some guys with potential, but very little actual game experience returns.
3. Quarterback -- Have to pick one at the end of spring practice and be ready to go in the fall. We are loaded at WR, RB and TE so having a guy to get them the ball and make the right decisions in-game is going to huge.

With the schedule we have next year I think we are in position to win 8-10 games in the regular season and contend for another league title, even in what on paper is a "rebuilding" year.

I think our defense might be better next year. And we are going to have 4 good DE. Blake and Ryan will see playing time . I think we will have more sacks this year than we did last. We Should be good at LB.

Going to WKU and MT will be the toughest games. Not sure if we go to Rice next year.
Agree, plug holes on the lines we should be OK.
Not really concerned about QB.

I was very pleased with the emergence of Huskey at the end of the season because Holmes and Hewitt were very good linebackers for us and losing them hurts. My biggest fear is at corner. I think people sometimes don't appreciate just how good Swag is. Not only a great cover corner, but very aggressive in the run game. We need Wilson and Manning to really step up next season.

Daniel also played quite a bit at DE when Thompson was out....he'll be a SR next year. Massaquoi is also a DE.

So you have Thompson-Jr,, Daniel-Sr, Massaquoi-Jr, Dews-Fr, Keller-So, and possibly Williams-SR and/or Ryan Bee depending on whether Bee is a DE or DT

I would look for Ricardo Williams to move into Rouse"s vacant spot. Would be very surprised to see him move back out to the end position. With a year's experience inside, look for him to turn into a monster next year. Dews is going to be hard to handle off the edge - he is long and fast. Should be a pretty good D-line next year.

I am worried about O-Line - but think they'll do fine.

He played DT this year at 245

We have 2 props joining the team at 280 pounds and Ryan Bee should be about 275+ by the time the season

Samuel and Dillion will likely start at DT with Tomel One, N Harris, M. Thompson, Bee. There is also the Smith kid that may play either DT or DE as well if on campus. UCF has shown you have have plenty of guys on OL/DL....you can't stop recruiting them and also bring in JUCOs when possible.

I hope Rouse gets an NFL shot at DE....where he is more prototypical size and explosiveness.

La Tech was able to shut them down because they blitzed the entire game and kept the pressure on. We will absolutely have to get pressure on Doughty next year if we want to beat them. We also need to see improvement from our secondary because they got torched.

They got torched cause there was no pressure on QB, especially in first half. Also 4 turnovers leading to 4TD's didn't help either. When you take away the TD we got off one turnover, their 3 extra possessions was the difference in game. That being said I think we need to be a little bigger at D tackle. Speed helps but when teams run straight ahead between the tackles we've been vulnerable. Three hundred pound guards and center against 270 ish pound D tackles is not a good matchup. I think Sparrow has been our only legitimately sized D tackle we've had in awhile. If memories serves he was around 290. Anyway just my opinion.

IMO, need to be bigger, stronger up front so that we can control opposing running games. If we do that, we can use a variety of tactics to stop passing game....not just vs WK but teams like FAU, LT as well. Our D has gone from bad, to respectable, to pretty good in 2 years.....we now need to become dominant on D side.

I think it would help if we got a couple of really big run stoppers regardless if they were slow or not. If you can clog the middle with big and slow let the speed take care of the outside. I do like speed but it would be nice for certain occasions if we could also go big and strong in the middle.
