I'm gonna say 25,000. Lot of excitement over Huff, but the weak opponent combined with their being a much more interesting home game next week is going to drag it down.
The first game traditionally does very well, and this is, by far the worst week of college football in terms of matchups nationally, and the local teams.
Among teams of local interest:
Oregon - Ohio State is a noon start, well over by our time.
Kentucky is playing Mizzou, at 7:30, but its not in basketball.
The Spamites are playing something called C.W.Post of Long Island (on the internet, how can this be, don’t they read all the posts here complaining about games on the internet).
Notre Dame is playing Toledo (on the internet, wow, Notre Dame on the internet, again, they need to consult the experts here).
Ohio U is playing I-AA Duquesene (get this, on the internet).
Among the ranked national teams,
Alabama is playing I-AA Mercer
Georgia is playing UAB
Oklahoma is playing I-AA Western Carolina
TAMU is playing hapless Colorado
Clemson is playing I-AA HBCU South Carolina State
And so on, as the top 25 play such luminaries as Murray State, Ball State, South Florida, SEC homecoming opponent for life Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Middle Tenn, Austin Peay, UNLV, Georgia State, and Alabama State. The only matchup of any merit is Iowa - Iowa State. Who cares?
Best weekend there will be to put down the remote.
