Coach Huff Post Game Press Conference

Which points to why having some stability in the area of HC is critical.

Tell that to SMiss and some of the other historically successful big-time programs who have begun to flounder the last few years.

With all the other challenges (NIL) now placed on the head coach in the college ranks, you better hire the right guy. That's the one part of program you want stability.

Southern Miss has been floundering for more than the last few years.

Since their last year under Fedora in 2011, they’re 58-101.

They have 7 losing seasons in that time.

In every single one of those losing seasons, the won 3 or less games.

6-7 wins has been the ceiling for that program for a long time now.

And 6 head coaches. My point holds true. Stability at HC is critical in overall success of a program.

They’ve not had 6 head coaches in that time. Also, this is their current coach’s 4th year same as Huff.

I don’t agree that stability is as vital anymore than you believe, although I can certainly understand your viewpoint.

But I just don’t think it applies as it pertains to USM.

Since Fedora, they have had total 6 head coaches. 2 of those being interim HCs in 2020.

While I agree about stability playing a part. There does need to be some wisdom in when to cut someone loose. I mean we kept the last guy around for a decade. As it stands right now though, it would be unwise to cut Huff loose if we have the power to prevent it.

absolutely.

However, If the rumors are true, he turned down an extension offer last year prior to NC St are true, I see no reason chasing him at this point either. Time to move on.
