Anyone know when the death rate is going to catch up with the "spike"? Been waiting three and a half months and it hasn't happened. I was told by nearly every Democratic politician, pundit, and news outlet that it was coming. I just want to be ready for the "inevitable" increase. Thanks in advance.

What's the percentage of survival rate for anyone under 70 now, like 99% still?

I think it's time to stop acting like new infections is something so scary. As soon as numbers of new infections increase, don't bother looking at stats, such as what age group out of the number infected, just go ahead and shut everything down, cause you know, that helps wreck the economy, which is a good thing right now in the liberal playbook.

In fact, Biden gets to blame his incompetency in managing our economy on Trump for the 6 months he gets to be in office before the Leftists boot him out.

I'm sure one of our liberal friends can dig up some "science" to share

this is an honest question how many of these positive tests are retests? I know our health dept is counting every positive test result but I know some employers/schools are requiring a negative test to return so people get tested 2-3 times or more.

You know what a member of the military told me? He said, Mr Herdman. You know when you have to worry about Covd? I said, no, tell me.

He said when you see us locked on this base or they air lift us out of here and we go sit in a desert or a wheat field. We could self contain ourselves for two years out there.

He went on, Mr Herdman, think about this. We all go to work, with each other, we go home to our families unless deployed, we go to the mall, out to eat, shop, and so on. Just like anybody else can. Day in and day out. We have guys that can be on a plane in a few hours and can be anywhere in the world to defend the country.

I said, ok, go on

Herdman, if this virus were so bad and they were worried about it and we are a rapid reaction force and we are not locked down or mobilized away from the general population then guess what, herdman?

I said, a bunch of horse shit, sir?

You said it, herdman, not me. but, think about.

Thank god that many states, including red ones, listened to the experts and shut down (or on some cases, reshut down) when their cases started to rise.

Imagine if all of those red states listened to the guy who claimed that the 15 current cases would be down to one very soon, that it was going to magically disappear overnight, that it was nothing to worry about, that it (Covid or the reaction to it) was a hoax . . .

WSJ has an article indicating COVID hit the US long before we knew it. I don't have a subscription, use to be able to read their articles in incognito mode but apparently they caught up with that. anyhoo, here's the link. @Raoul Duke MU you're an internet news subscriber, you have one? if so, spoiler that shit for us.

my wife, a nurse, truly believes my son had it back in november or december. he had all the syptoms and was in pretty rough shape for about a week and a half. at the time, we knew it wasn't the flu, wasn't a common cold, but didn't have a clue what it was. not saying it was COVID for sure, but the symptoms he had were extraordinarily similar to COVID symptoms. hell, whatever it was ran rampant through our community, I knew many who had similar symptoms.

me, i believe that alcohol wards off sickness. i haven't been sick, not even a cold, in about 10 years. that was the last time i had the flu, and, coincidentally - or not - the first and last time i took a flu shot.

Shutting down does nothing but delay the inevitable. If we had kept everything open, we would be very much on the back end of this entire thing by now. Just like Sweden.

I sad back in April during a business meeting that shutting this country down was perhaps the dumbest thing we have ever done.

Thank God our beloved POTUS did not listen to that soft-headed goon Biden. He insisted shutting down our borders to China (the confirmed origin of the disease) was simply unnecessary and Trump was being a big ol' meany.

Why don't you and every other liberal faggit who doesn't understand how the real world works just sit back and let us grownups handle it for you, while you worry about more important things, like how to cheat the IRS and get minorities in further debt with poor credit/debt management.

True, Biden called him out for shutting down entrance from China which was a good move. Biden was just trying to play the race card

That doesn’t explain the issues California is having and they shut everything down and continue to do so

I don’t know if Sweden will be the best way to do this. I have very few strong opinions on some of the public measures for COVID, except that schools should be open unless you’re in a crazy hot spot.

Apparently, it's all about the "science" until....teacher's unions oppose Trump admin requests/suggestions (open schools).

Pretty sure I did, too. The week after Thanksgiving is when i got it. Had a nagging cough that did not go away for 3-4 weeks. Watery eyes that would be plastered shut every morning. Had a fever for exactly one day. No other issues.

Those ^^^ are lies.

I’m sorry, but anyone looking at new cases as the important metric is missing the mark. In July and August we were adding 500,000 new cases every 7-8 days. In September and so far in October that has been 11-14 days. That is with many states having prolonged reopening.

Now look at deaths. We recorded the 25,000th death on April 11. Death 50,000 was 12 days later, 75,000 was 13 days after that and 100,000 was 17 days after that. From the first death to 100,000 took 55 days. Since then the number of new cases has exploded from from 1,700,000 to over 7,500,000, but it took almost 120 days after that to get to 200,000 deaths.

When you consider that you started with zero cases and got to 100,000’in a few months, but started with 1.7’million cases and took 4 months to get to 200,000 it tells me that it’s time to get busy living.

The survival rate for those under 18 is 99.997%, under 50 is 99.95%. If you are over 70, be cautious, everybody else should forget about it and move on.

many of the staff at the hospital where I am also think COVID showed up in 2019 around November. We got hammered with many cases that didn't fit the normal narratives

What is the source for the information you try to present as fact? Sweden has had a significant and steady increase in new cases for about 1.5 months. They are definitely not on the back end of anything. And the two deplorables (@ohio herd @ThunderCat98 ) who liked your post should be forced to explain why they supported your inaccurate claim.

That doesn’t explain the issues California is having and they shut everything down and continue to do so

Again, where the fvck do you deplorables get your data from? CA has had a steady decline in new cases for about 1.5 months. It's the complete opposite of what is happening in Sweden. And the two other deplorables (@mlblack16. and @ThunderCat98 ) should be forced to explain why they supported such an inaccurate post.

I don’t think simply whether or not one dies should be the only gauge.

Talk to any healthcare worker in Central WV. Our hospitals are a shit show right now and it’s not just all old people.

And that is with masking, social distancing, limited sports attendance, limited events, and all the other crap we’re having to put up with. Now take all that away, what do the hospitals look like?

Are most of the people getting admitted dying? No. The vast, vast , majority are living. And our treatments are getting better.

But that doesn’t mean an ICU stay where I don’t die isn’t still something to be avoided.

according to the covid tracking project, I couldn’t find data on wvdhhr site there are currently 168 people hospitalized with 54 in icu. Not exactly earth shattering numbers. I’m sure smaller community hospitals would be overwhelmed with 4-5 cases but the entire system isn’t cracking

that is how they do the fear mongering and how many people are running to the hospital when they could go to their Dr or self care at home.

released from dr tomorrow according to reports and back on the campaign trail next week, not bad for 74 years old

But he ran like a scared rabbit to the hospital. He didn't go to his doctor and he didn't self care. moron. Not bad for a 74 year old who received the absolute best healthcare available....free.

Wrong. You uninformed idiot. It is neither the best, nor free.

Clearly, you've never served your country in and capacity, you stupid old piece of thetan shit.

Trump doesn't have a say in whether he went to the hospital. Maybe he was scared, but he didn't "run to the hospital." He was told he was being sent to the hospital by his medical staff who are tasked with the responsibility of keeping him alive. They even discussed this briefly on the news the day they sent him.

You and Rifle are such disciplined liberal cucks. If there's a single admirable quality in both of you, it's that the two of you bow down to every liberal narrative. It's adorbz, really.

Your healthcare is practically free, probably always has been. You're one of those business owners who fudges paperwork and gets Medicaid, probably Caresource. You're welcome, getting your healthcare provided on conservatives dime.

I'm not looking at cases, I'm looking at over 200,000 DEAD....so far, and perhaps another 50,000 by Christmas. trumptard.

so what was your best idea to keep more people alive and not totally put the economy at ruin. You have no idea. I sat in on a call with my boss and we thought a 50 million year company that has been in business for 75 years would be reduce to a small scale of that. You sit in calls where sales guys were willing to give up pay and more to keep other employees there?

so what was the plan that was better? wear a mask, lock it down and watch the unemployment rate go to 80% and the govt send everybody 2k a month? Let's hear it, big boy. This would have made the great depression look small and more people would have died from poverty, suicide, depression, and the god damn hospitals would not have been able to serve other needs. They were going to go under locking down as were the doctors you nitwit.

My argument, however, is that the system is being stressed, and without the precautions being taken the system very well could crack.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan the dictatorial executive orders by a governor. But I do the think precautions we’re taking are correct, while I simultaneously question the authority of a governor to make these unilateral decisions. And worry about the path it sets us on, what other decisions can be made in the name of “public safety.”

But that doesn’t mean the solution is to just pretend this thing isn’t a problem.
