D’Antoni can become....

The guys (& gals) should have their own place to practice, and the addition of a dedicated practice facility is looooong overdue.

Because the court at the HC is unavailable because it is being used by ???????

Basketball practice facilities are for programs that play in arenas that are also used by other teams, concerts, monster trucks, whatever. HC is there for the teams, 24/7/365.

As to the IPF nonsense, newsflash. Football requires more stuff than basketball. Basketball was invented to be a low cost sport.

The ONLY thing I can think of that basketball needs is a better travel situation (for example they bused to LEX to fly commercial to DFW and then bused some more, while there are several private airports in the area.

Blaming the mediocrity of this mediocre team on facilities is ridiculous.

That's false. North Texas, a fellow C-USA member, has had a dedicated practice facility since at least 2013 (they may have had one prior, but they finalized a new one in 2013). MTSU has a dedicated basketball practice facility. WKU has a 30K square foot auxiliary gym for its basketball teams which has two full courts. ODU has an entire facility just for their basketball teams which includes practice courts (see link below about how impressive it is). LA Tech has an entire separate basketball practice gym. UAB announced an $8.5 million basketball practice facility.

None of their home arenas are being used for things that you mentioned forcing the teams into a practice facility.

It is no wonder why the teams I listed above also happen to be the teams leading the conference in basketball.

That is good information though MTSU has had a couple of dreadful seasons recently. Factoring in class schedules and sharing court time with volleyball and WBB it can be a challenge to get quality practice time.

The Cam is not a suitable place to practice basketball. ONLY 2 BASKETS. You need more than that to really practice what you need to practice. Shoot free throws at one end but get out of the way when the fast break comes at you. IPF...What is the main purpose of that facility? Everything you do in the IPF can be done at the Joan. But it sure is nice to be able to go inside when it's cold, snowing, or raining outside. Heck, the Rec Center is probably more suitable for basketball practice than either the Cam or Swede's place.

Funny.....when Sam makes his silly, non-factual assertions, and subsequent posts call him out with facts, he seems to go into his shell? At least be man enough to admit when you are wrong....

The biggest drawback of the Rec is the windows. The glare is horrific.

It just begs the ? - If one of the two positive cash flow sports is deserving of a state of the art practice facility (the practical equivalent of a dedicated, remodeled GH w/ 8 baskets and a full sized practice court), then why not the other?

Sorry, I post most every day, and nothing in my post was non-factual.

Perhaps, in a weird way, though, this is progress. The standard "we are great" DD sycophant line is so indefensible of a view that even some of the worst are finally coming up off it. Now coming to the full truth will take time, so some of you want to spend some time in "our facilities are bad" excuse land, then fine.

Eventually, most will come over to the truth. This is a mediocre program because the fan base accepts mediocrity.

THAT sounds like the Doc haters line from 2016.............some of the worst? I thought I was your favorite??

Again, MU football could be 14-0, 0-14, in I-AA, or not exist at all.

Does not change the need to have a discussion as to why this fan base accepts basketball mediocrity.

You mean just like we have accepted mediocrity in football for the last decade?

Now is the time to have a BASKETBALL discussion. No matter what the FORMER football coach did or did not do. Irrelevant. Not material. Unimportant. A BASKETBALL discussion of if we are happy with an "OK" team that is "fun to watch" and other such ho-ha, because the coach is a nice guy (and he is) and went to school here, or do we wish to DEMAND EXCELENCE and grab this one-bid mid-major league by the throat as we have the resources to do.

It is up to us. Does basketball. WINNING basketball really matter here, or are we satisfied with mediocrity?

Yeah, let’s demand better. When you claim the goal is to use the season to have your team humming at the end of the year and you crap your pants at that point in the season, you deserve some heat. It’s time to make some tough decisions and run off some guys at the end of the bench. It’s time to consider looking at the transfer portal/grad transfer market to find an immediate placeholder for Kinsey leaving.

WKU should be losing some of their better players and you know Stansbury will be looking to bring in any transfer who will pick up his phone call. The conference should be even more wide open next year. Let’s finish in the top 3 in the regular season and make a run to the CUSA title game. Anything short of that needs to warm up the coach’s seat.

Disappointing end to a strange season that had some promise but missed opportunities, lapses during games and poor execution at times killed that.

Didn't get to watch or listen much to the game but I can imagine how the game went because I have seen it before.

Many of us here have been talking about the seniors and how great it would be for them to return for another season. I would like to see them come back as well but a caveat to all of us that I don't recall anyone mentioning - other schools in the conference might have some seniors come back next year as well so it might not necessarily be to our benefit as much as we think it might be.

Really thought this team would play better in the tournament after winning 6 of the last 7. Looking forward to football season now.

Hope baseball and softball have good seasons and soccer can repeat last year's run. Go Herd!
