Problem is right now DeSantis can't win his conference. We know many times the second or third place team in the SEC is better than champions from other conferences. But, if you can't beat Georgia or Bama it might not matter.
That's his problem. Can he beat Trump? Right now, no. Get mad some of you, the reality is Trump commands a large voting block in this country.
I really like DeSantis. To be the man, he is going to have to beat the man or convince him to step aside.

Therein lies the problem. The more that enter the Republican primary, the better Trump's chances become. He's got that 35-40% voting block that makes beating him almost impossible. A dozen other people running take away from the votes DeSantis might get. Bigger problem though is the general election. Trump is stuck with that 35-40% voting block, and a lot of teammates opt to sit out the bowl game, and you end up with an experiment like mush/hyena. Same thing happened when Tulane beat USC.
Nobody will beat a Democrat ever again unless it is a total landslide by 20 points in nearly every state.
Once they figured out how to rig the game in their favor, they are not giving it up.
best thing is to concentrate on local and state faces and congressional seats.
none of this matters until we tighten up voting.
only answer is to get your own mules and ballot harvest and commit voter fraud as well.

No one wants Trump to win and continue to be a part of the national conversation than Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself).
Trump desperately needs independents to win the general. I think a number of them will go along with Trump if he manages to beat DeSantis but Trump actually needs to be diplomatic when attacking him. Ron is seen as a far more palatable version of Trump (i.e. not as intentionally inflammatory). You get the policies without Trump's level of showmanship, which is honesty all folks really want.

They (dems) literally donated money to Trump primary candidates just so that they could run against anything Trump (see Peter Meijer).. It's good for ratings/clicks and good for wins for the dems in elections.
I sense a growing push back among many conservative men against Trump. With the election still a few years away my hope is more and more Trump supporters will wake up and see that he can't win so they need to support some like DeSantis who can.
It's not just the Presidential race. It's the House/Senate races too.
