This may be a bit tasteless for me to bring up under the circumstance, but why should that stop me now?

Former wvu coach Calvin Magee's wife was recently diagnosed with cancer. Of course, best wishes to her as she fights through this. However, there has been a GoFundMe account set up to help pay for her treatment. Her husband played four years in the NFL and possibly has an NFL pension. But besides that, he has spent the last 25 years in state employment positions making a hell of a salary.

He was making well into the six-figures at wvu, and then continued to make a high salary at Michigan and Pitt.

He then spent six years at Arizona. His salaries over the last chunk of years?

2014: $400,000
2015: $520,000
2016: $520,000
2017: $520,000 (possibly higher)
2018: $225,000
2019: $375,000

The guy is over $2.5 million in these six years and made great money for more than a decade before that. This is all tax dollars. Is there really a need for a GoFundMe to pay for his wife's treatment? Is that how we as a society show our support these days - just throw some money at people?

Sounds like she chose the wrong Obama care option.

But to answer your question, yes, this is what it's come to these days. Your post reminded me of something I meant to post about a few weeks back. One of my female Facebook friends started a GoFundMe on her page, asking all her friends to raise money (about $1,400.00) to pay her monthly mortgage and car payment. I'm not saying that was a bad thing for her to do, but about a week after starting the GoFundMe page, she proceeded to post countless check ins to multiple restaurants, clubs, bars, etc., and to top it all off, posted pictures of herself and her kids living it up on vacation at the outer banks.

My personal take is that some people simply have no pride, and ruin what should be a legitimate platform for those truly in need.

I know someone that started a GoFundMe to help them through some "tough times". Both husband and wife work. Pick up a side gig, you lazy fvcks. You think I enjoy working 24 hours of overtime every two weeks? No, but I can pay my bills every month.

Another friend held a GoFundMe because her home burned down. Totally understandable. Single mom (the dad passed away a few years ago), four kids, yeah they need help for a couple of months. It wasn't very successful, IMHO. But all these moochers make people less likely to help the ones that really need it. You are exactly right, the moochers ruin it.

I’m going to start a gofund me for a poster on this board, who is supposedly wealthy, but can’t cough up $100.

It’s a lost cause. He will simply make a $1 contribution to get the template, edit the receipt to make it appear to be $1000, then posts it on here to appear that he fulfilled his obligation. Then, when called out on it, he will deny it, only to have a sudden recollection when proof of his forgery is threatened to be posted.

give him an address or paypal account, etc. Probably not hard. Go get the $100 if it means that much to you.

Oh, you mean exactly what I suggested they do from the very start since I knew Murox the Moron would renege on it? Sorry, Murox the Moron refused to do that knowing it would be far too easy for him to have to pay that way, and the casino mogul teacher supported Murox the Moron's stance on that by telling CR he should just go meet in person.

If this deal was reversed and your hero rox didn't get his money, you'd have never shut up about it. You and your con ilk won't shut up about fever not paying his debts, but rox gets a pass from you hypocrites.

CR doesn't want the money. He wants something to talk about. Plus, Fever is an asshole

How is this any different?

Fever has said that he didn't pay because QBU wouldn't meet him in person to get it. Murox the Moron refused to pay via PayPal/Venmo and insisted that CR meet him in person.

Same thing. Same deplorables.

CRoads do you agree to using paypal, venmo, or providing an address for a check to be mailed?

Those things were already offered six months ago. Murox the Moron, backed by the casino mogul teacher, refused to pay that way. CR was trying to make it easier for all involved. Murox the Moron was trying to make it hard for CR. Now, at this point, out of sheer principle, CR should not provide any of the things he attempted to previously. The burden to pay, even if it takes more effort/work, is on Murox the Moron.

Hell, CR even took time to meet Murox the Moron's lackey twice, but the representative failed to hold up his end of the deal and didn't show.

Are you CR?

Whether he wants it or not, the money is owed to 89. Your hero cares more for his dog than he does you or any/all the people on this board. Yet you take up for him when he does the SAME thing as fever, who you and most on this board vilify,. You simply look the other way. You and others should shut up about fever until rox meets HIS obligation.

Murox should just hang out at the Cabell County courthouse around 9:30 and hand CR89 the $100 when he walks in to defend the deplorables.

Wrong. I offered to meet CR in person and pay him just so I could meet him. When I couldn’t work that out due to family issues, murox said he would pay CR via PayPal if he would provide the information. CR, to date, has never done that.

Wrong, lackey. My original idea before the bet was even finalized was for the payment to be via PayPal or Venmo. It was common sense forbidden all involved. Murox the Moron and the casino mogul teacher both voted against that idea.

Your claim to pay him just so that you could meet him either makes you a liar now or a liar then.

okay, one more post before leaving . . . who the hell is the casino mogul teacher and why do you call them that?

No relevance. Just like with cheeto, you refuse to place blame on who is truly at fault here.

Black guy who scams somebody? You have no problem calling him out.

White, Republican guy who scams somebody? You refuse to call him out.
I am getting all the facts and you are NOT CR. SO let him answer.

You should let CR speak for himself and provide his side of the story.

CR will you provide a Venmo, paypal, or address for a check to be mailed?

Wrong. CuntryRoads wouldn't do the paypal thing, because he didn't want to. I believe his issue was either not having a paypal account or didn't want anyone having his email address. The guy was (and still is) paranoid about people figuring out his identity, which is comical, considering EVERYONE knows who he is.

Say what you want but you won’t catch him in an old beat up Nissan Maxima

If Roxie owes anyone any money via a bet, good luck on collecting. That moron still owes me a mere $5 and was adamant he would only pay if I met him personally (despite me offering alternate ways of receiving the $5).
