Golfers get great trophy wives without herpes. You guys know this thread is rifle bait?
Let me introduce you to Wade Boggs...
I heard a guy from Western Carolina struck out a Marshall catcher back in the 90's 4 times in one game and the pitcher was on a three day binge and had the flu. Said the catcher for the Herd got caught looking three of those four times. Damn, baseball is a crazy game.
We must be talking about a different catcher.I heard that particular catcher didn’t play for Marshall in the 90s. He played in the 2000s. He isn’t an old man like you.
I also heard that Marshall never played Western Carolina during that catcher’s time.
I also heard that particular catcher walked more in his career than he struck out, so striking out twice in one game was highly improbable. Doing it four times was impossible.
Deaf BadmittonIt’s hard to call a golfer a top notch athlete as long as they lose their concentration if a camera goes off in their backswing. Name another sport where complete silence is necessary for the competitor to compete?
You ever yell at a batter to swing or a basketball player takin a jump shot? It’s hard to call a golfer a top notch athlete as long as they lose their concentration if a camera goes off in their backswing. Name another sport where complete silence is necessary for the competitor to compete?

This is simply the conditioning of one's mind, meaning, when you're playing a sport like football or basketball, your mind is used to hearing loud noises while you're participating, and your concentration is typically unflattered while taking a shot, or catching a pass. With golf, your mind is used to silence, and any unexpected noise will vastly alter your concentration, which impacts your swing.
Aren't you the one that brags about playing golf all the time? I golf on occassion, but noises don't bother me, because I typically play with rednecks, so my mind is conditioned to taking a swing with guys popping open beers, taking a piss into a bush, hollering at someone on the adjoining hole, etc.Translation is golfers are weak minded long distance walkers.

I've never claimed they were athletic, but some golfers are likely pretty athletic in other sports.I do play, all the time which is why I can say that for anyone to call them top notch athletes is absurd. I play drunk sometimes and with guys that do the same as your boys you described. Golfers are no more athletic than NASCAR drivers.
Speaking of distractions....you all remember this?
This isn;t the old days. Too much money in it now.

How many 6'4 guys can actually dunk?Let me try to dumb this down for yet another Republican:
The argument isn't that people who are good at golf can't be athletic. With hundreds of professional golfers, you're destined to find a few good athletes mixed in that group. Likewise, just because you are good at chess doesn't exempt you from being athletic.
The argument is that people don't have to be athletic to be good at golf. Likewise, you don't have to be athletic to be good at chess.
And are you really trying to support your argument by showing 6'4 guys dunking?
My guess is Yag thought he would take his athletic prowess to the golf course and proceeded to shoot 180.
What I am saying is golfers at the pro level are far more athletic than they used to be.
It might explain some of your bad comments about golf. That wouldn't make much sense according to my argument. You don't have to be athletic to be good at golf.
Chess players are far more athletic than the used to be. With the advance in technology, health education, and fitness industry over the last fifty years, people spend far more time working out and getting stronger than they used to.

I think what herdman is saying is that you likely played golf once and wasn’t very good at it, so you took this whole “golfers aren’t athletes” stance to feel better about yourself. Not judging...just clarifying.
I ain't gonna disagree with that.*weren't
Herdman should know by now that I am good at everything . . . especially modesty.
