i know why he thinks we should be happy with our performance. Since he has been AD here we have had 8 winning seasons, only 3 losing seasons, a conference championship and another east title. While we may think that's underperforming because we used to win championships all the time for 20 years, he doesn't have the same experience.
As a player, Mike never experienced a winning season if college. His teams in the latter 70s were very bad and even winning a game was a big deal. In his two stops as an AD before coming to Marshall he had overseen 14 football seasons. Only 5 of those had his team finish over .500 and he had 8 consecutive seasons of sub .500 football in row including John's first year. The championship in 2014 is his only conference football championship in 29 years as a player or athletic director.
