Congrats BB. I know you’ve had to wait since March to bad mouth Danny and the basketball team and now you finally have a couple bad losses to let it all go.
If anyone ever wants an easy way to figure out whether Marshall won or lost a game, just log onto the boards and see if bbneutralfan is active.
If you see that he has started multiple threads, then Marshall lost. He really enjoys it when Marshall loses.
If you don’t see any activity whatsoever, then Marshall won. He vanishes when Marshall wins.

BB makes a good point though. It seems like they have read their own press which has been exacerbated by playing some really weak teams so far. We have one decent win (Hofstra) and have been blown out by a top 25 team in colossal fashion and then were blown out by an OK Ohio team.
And maybe Dan will finally close practice. If not maybe some people will finally stay away for awhile. This is the kind of loss that screws with a teams psyche. If it's not controlled it can lead to a 4-5 game slide. Important moment for the BB team.
At this point last season we already had 3 losses. Morehead State, Illinois and William and Mary. I'm not saying losing to Ohio U didn't sting and look bad but we might want to pump the breaks just a little. We actually had one more loss after the same amount of games last season and we all know how things turned out last year.
They weren't ready to play, looks like we are trying to be an NBA team with the junk that's thrown up. I just wish we would follow our shots and box out. That alone would correct a lot of the problem.
Just saying last year turned out to be a great season for Marshall and all of us (myself included) were proud of what they accomplished and where we ended up. But it looks early on that this team thinks they just had to go on the court and everyone would say “oh it’s Marshall” when in reality every team we are going to face is going to give us there best shot as we move forward. We do not play defense. We do not rebound. All we do is run up and down the floor and attempt three pointers and if Elmore and Burks are cold we are doomed. So yes Hey Danny tell the players to quit reading all the press about how great they are, quit reading FB posts and twitter comments and play basketball.
Tough part is just getting started.

With all respect, that is like goofing off all month, buying a lottery ticket, it paying off for a $1000, covering the rent, and, the next month, instead of getting a job and all of that, just going back to screwing around and telling yourself, "its OK, look at what happened last month, I will hit the lottery again."
It is not a valid plan.
Last year was special. We got hot in a one-bid league's conference tournament and actually won one game past that. It was memorable. It was special. It MIGHT work again, this year, or ten years for now. It is not a substitute for an actual system.
Watched the Massacre at Maryland, and was concerned going into the OU game. They are ALWAYS tough in the Convo - with or without students in town. So far, we have beaten the teams on our schedule that we are supposed to beat, lost terribly to a team that we wish we could beat, and lost to a team on the road that we SHOULD beat with a senior-laden roster. Fact of the matter is, Jon and CJ have got to play better. Yes, they both scored 20 points, but they combined to take 42 shots... Jansson definitely didnt have his typical game yesterday going 1-7 from 3, but the stats that just leap off of the page at me are a paltry 11 assists (we're not sharing the ball the way we did last year) and -20 to Ohio University on the backboard... Their two starting guards outrebounded Jon and CJ 17-to-7. So when it came down to "teammate" stat (assists) and "effort" stat (rebounding) we laid an egg.
The Duquense game and taking care of business at home against Toledo and Morehead,are crucial. That next 5-game road stretch is brutal with @Akron, @TexasA&M, @UVA, @ODU and @Charlotte all over the Christmas Break. If we come out of the back end of that run at 10-5 I would be THRILLED!!!!

Seems to me like he's trying to run the Machine Gun offense (Grinnell System) without actually knowing the mechanics. Maybe, he should give Westhead a call. Hell maybe even someone on this board can give him a heads up in it
