I’m not normally over here, but wanted to see if someone can answer a ? about 🇺🇦 Ukraine war

Funny part is how many on here want to bomb Iran. Talk about a no fly zone over Ukrane and they are scared shitless.

If you want the war to stop, invoke a new fly zone.

Putin is winning and has been winning the entire time. He has numbers in every category, people, tanks, planes, everything. We tried telling certain people here that there just wasnt a path to Ukrainian victory.

Given that, you really have two choices, stop it where it is, or keep going and eventually all of Ukraine will fall and be completely annexed into Russia.

The only other option is to officially go ahead and call WWIII and let the chips fall, which is essentially the US and some minor players versus China and Russia and their terrorist buddies.

Yeah…Putin invades, pummels the lands & ppl of a democratic nation. + goes through ginormous stock of weapons & soldiers. Now Trump, who I totally support, is supposed to have the art of the deal, where neither side gets everything they want…so what is Vlad not getting? It’s baffling

Russia has had Crimea since the 2014 invasion. It's allowing Russia to keep Crimea while Russia has to cede areas they have claims on. Plus Ukraine will be allowed to join the EU. Biased media reporting aside, I think it seems to be a reasonable and workable solution. Plus it stops the killing.

….if we (U.S.) are proposing terms that Russia wants (set border at current front lines & no NATO, ever for the invaded country), where exactly is the give on Putins part?
He then doesn't continue the war and Ukraine is left with a country outside of the ethnic Russian areas. Ukraine is left with some of their population still in place.

Ukraine has little to no ability to expel Russia from that territory. They are just dying amd dying.

They have no military option of expelling Russia. Russia has ser up a defensive perimeter ans Ukraine doesn't have the weapons nor manpower to expel them.

Crimea was always Russian. If waa given to Ukraine by Russia after the split up of the Soviet Union as a reward.

We have little to no strategic interest in Ukraine other than getting some mineral rights foe restitution of what we gave them.

The days of us being the world's police as being in every conflict need to be over.

We have our own oroblems in our back door.

Tell zelinsky to take the est deal.o the table.or just leave and wish him luck.

The second thing happens anyway if Ukraine doesn’t get NATO membership, which they aren’t, so eventually Ukraine will be taken over (officially or via puppet government) by Russia. The play is to make Russia bleed as much as possible to do it, which has been going great. This is very simple proxy war politics and I have a hard time believing you all don’t get it.

“Going great”? Hordes & hordes of Ukrainians are dead & it could have been avoided. I guess if you don’t give a shit about mass death or global conflict, this war is right up your alley.

He's not getting all of Ukraine and there will be a US presence there if Zelenskyy would get off his ass and agree to the mineral rights deal.

My god. Where are you getting your news?

Going great? That's insane.

I agree that this, obviously, has been a proxy war. There’s no denying that. And, to a degree, there’s logic in depleting Russia as much as possible without using US troops to do it. Not saying it’s right…but it’s worked.

Also, regarding what Ukraine gets from this. If they would accept Trump’s mineral rights deal, there would be US interests/business/people in Ukraine for the rest of time in large scale. This is the security deal, because Russia knows better than to slip up and bomb a plant filled with Americans.

And I have a hard time believing a compassionate liberal looks past the fact that Ukraine has lost two generations of men and will soon look like the Germans, or the southerners, at the end of their losses with a bunch of 60 and 14 year olds fighting in the trenches.

What kind of person is cool with millions of deaths just so Russia suffers a temporary depletion of weapons stockpiles? Who’s okay with the leveling of entire cities as long as it’s somebody else’s country they don’t have to look at?

Just what is your final resolution and how does it come to pass? You can hope the little guy beats the big guy all day, but hope isn’t a plan. The longer an asskickin goes, the worse it gets. This isn’t a movie where a guy gets his azz beat and all of a sudden hops up and beats the other guy to a pulp.

The same kind of person that went unhinged over something and called me a genocidal fvck... I think he had me confused with a liberal since they are the ones behind genocides...

How can you get a peace deal when Zelensky won't even give up Crimea? They lost that in 2014! Western polling back then and at present shows a majority of Crimea is ethnically/linguistically Russian.

If he won't even give up Crimea then that's a litmus test for his reasoning on this whole thing...and it's not good.

I think that has been Trump's issue with Zelensky from Day 1. Trump didn't fold to media pressure and now we are seeing the problem for what it is. And who was POTUS and VPOTUS in 2014 when the invasion of Crimea occurred???

It goes back even further than 2014. Mearsheimer has been sounding alarm bells for decades about Ukraine/Russia and Nato expansion back to Clinton era.

Everything he said has come true.

As I've said time and time again, there is no resolution, absent WW3, where this gets resolved without Ukraine ceding territory to Russia. If that's a non-starter for Zelinsky, then maybe it's time Ukraine has a free and open election to see if he should remain in power.
Zelenskyy canceled elections in 2024 and remained in Power under Marshal law.

Meanwhile Russia held their Elections in 2024. The U.S. held elections during the civil war, ww1, ww2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Russian elections can always be questioned and debated ofcourse but they were still held.
Iraq and Afghan had elections while insurgents and taliban were still running amuck.

Plenty of Precedent to vote during conflict

And on a side note - whatever happened to the F16’s? It’s like they disappeared.
Drone warfare has changed to entire strategy in the air.
It has but they are primarily using small drones. Fighter just still play a major role. A commercial off the shelf drone is only going to do so much.

Who knows what happened to them. Ukraine might have sold them to the cartels or Mullah's.

He is arrogant son of a bitch. He has little cards to play. If this goes on Russia is going to take more and kill more(their own troops and plenty of Ukrainians).

Ukraine wants a cease fire because they need it. Russia has the upper hand and is not going to stop because they have the upper hand.

Zelensky is a fool.

If the hold up is Crimea, shame on Zelensky. I can understand not ceding territory taken in the current conflict but Crimea is in the past.

I'm a bit out of the loop but I think I heard on the news this morning he is still holding on to Crimea as coming back to Ukraine as part of peace deals.

I think we are all out of the loop because we don't know what is truly going on behind the scenes. I put no faith in Trump's tweets. He's proven that lying is second nature to him.

Can you, though? What other realistic outcome is there for Ukraine, outside of complete Russian control? If they think the other European nations and/or NATO are going to engage in a war with Russia without help the U.S. - and we aren't jumping in - then they are fools. So what's the most favorable outcome? You willing to go die for Ukraine, or better yet, send your kids to die for Ukraine?

I'm not talking about Trump saying it....it's being reported (and people are supportive of it)...

"Zelensky made clear Tuesday that he was open to talks with Russia, but that Kyiv would not accept a deal that recognizes Moscow’s control of Crimea."
