I am sorry we had to nuke Japan because they started the war.

Some of you are blinded by hatred or just stupid. That's a good speech. We should strive for peace. It would be nice if we could banish such weapons...but I believe there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.

Herdman, he is the first because for a long time the entire war was still a sore spot in US-Jap relations. It is important to get that shit all behind us to counter the rise of China.

Never mind that herdman and the rest of you have bought Jap stuff. If you still hold a grudge, put your money where your mouth is.

Roger Sterling would demur.

Is there anyone on this site filled with more anger and misguided arrogance than Greed? He can't go one post without calling someone a moron despite his regular attempts at failing to make a coherent point in any thread.

Fixed it for you

Didn't we fight a war because we hated the British Empire and thought it took advantage of us?

Difference is Obama thinks we are like the British Empire(and others at one point). He doesn't want us to be the 700lb gorilla in the room. He doesn't buy the notion of American exceptionalism, strong military, and out influence in the world. When you look at out history he may be the first president and very likely that has some resentment towards his own country.

Again, look at where the man came from and what his roots are.

So ..... where did Obama apologize for the United States nuking Japan in 1945?

If some of you cons want to construe that picture of Obama laying a wreath at the memorial as an "apology," then I'm curious to hear why Reagan's ceremonial visit to the Waffen-SS cemetery in Bitburg, Germany isn't an apology.

In Regan's own words:

"These [SS troops] were the villains, as we know, that conducted the persecutions and all. But there are 2,000 graves there, and most of those, the average age is about 18. I think that there's nothing wrong with visiting that cemetery where those young men are victims of Nazism also, even though they were fighting in the German uniform, drafted into service to carry out the hateful wishes of the Nazis. They were victims, just as surely as the victims in the concentration camps."

It is.......fvck Reagan too.

Ahhh ..... so Reagan's apology at a SS cemetery in Germany (explicitly singling out Wehrmacht soldiers as victims) was the same as Obama speaking by and laying a wreath on the Hiroshima Peace Cenotaph that reads "all humanity shall not repeat the error." Whatever you say. lol

So you are comparing one presidents speech to another's "wreath"????? Whatever you say. Lol

Maybe Raleigh, you could figure out how this action is an apology for the United States nuking Japan. One of our regular posters believes this was an apology.

It wasn't a Hitler Youth cemetery.

Do you think they were in the boy scouts?

Nope, comparing them to each other regarding what they said, where they said it, and what they otherwise did during the ceremonies. You have great reading comprehension there, Sparky.

No. I read your specific post quite clearly. You referred Only to what Obummer's wreath said and then wrote "speaking by and laying a wreath on...."
That has nothing to do with what Obummer actually said.

no need to explain a picture of a wreath to anyone. that's usually what happens in a cemetery.

Shhhhhh. FAG thinks he's on to something. Maybe he'll join the conversation in another week or so.
