It is clear at this point that ISIS is a snowball rolling downhill. The atrocities being committed grow by the day. Nobody is saying it will be easy or that it can be done without the loss of lives. Unfortunately, no one else gives enough of a shit to do it, besides Israel, who we hold back out of fear that we might make someone hate us if we didn't. Guess what? They all hate us anyways. Somebody needs to rattle the sabers. 23 years of service and the military seems to not be able to get the job done. Why cant our modern military finish the job? Maybe we should assume they are no different than any other govt employee.

Yehh and who as commaner in chief pulled the troops out. Hell, even the still serving Generals have spoke of it. Everybody knows it.
The problem is mainly with the chicken shi* leaders and they turned Generals and Admirals into politicians instead of war fighters like Patton,McCarthur, Nimitz, etc. The DC politicians won't step out of the way and let the military go kick ass.
Then, second fold, they turned part of the military into a social experiment.
But, generally speaking the boot on the ground is capable and will kick ass.
What everyone has to understand is that Obama(and others within his party) does not like the military and US military power. So, he is not going to respect it or use it effectively.

I know full well our military can achieve what they set out to do if the political hand cuffs are removed. My question was directed more towards PJ and his attitude that seems to express that only those that served or have a particular political ideology can comment on international events which require military use.
He seems to forget why he served those 23 years. He throws around words like chicken hawk, ignoring the fact that chicken Hawks actually don't take what our military does for granted, but have complete faith in our men and women's ability to kick ass when needed and allowed to do so.
As Keep's reply suggested, PJ is a hypocrite. Choosing to blindly side with those now who spent more time spitting on our military through the '60s-'70s while calling those who answered the draft call, baby killers and murderers. The same party now that openly suggests our military "can't" accomplish a mission when they are not in the White House
