Pick and roll all night long. Look for the open man on the perimeter. Lots of movement with and without the ball.
Ohio fan here. Some of you probably won't care about my opinion but here it is. I think the system will work if you guys can get the right players in there. You don't have them right now but it created a lot of open shots the other night. You just have to have tons of depth and lots of good shooters. You don't have either right now. It takes a lot of energy to work that hard, which you do, but you clearly got tired in the 2nd half. I know there is a lot of hand-wringing going on about D'Antoni's recruiting but if he can get the right kids in there you guys could have a very exciting product. It worked against both us and Tennessee until your lack of depth (fatigue) reared its ugly head. This probably won't be a very fun year but I came away more impressed than I expected to be.
Thank you for your comments. This has been my thought as well. Way too early to throw in the towel. Danny has been telling us at Tip Off meetings and at practice each day that it will take time and we MUST show patience. He used Newberry as an example. He scheduled them to show us how our system is supposed to work. That unit was a group of seniors that had been running that system for 4 years. It showed.
