But, any of you know of a beverage store between Morgantown and FayetteNam, WV that sells WV craft beers? Small shop in Fayetteville does, but hate paying high prices for beers that are out of date with dust covering the top of the cans. Figure Kroger or Walmart are my options, and maybe Sheetz.

Dumb question here - but I presume your starting point is not actually in Morgantown...because surely you can find craft beer in Morgantown?

I haven't lived in WV for nearly two decades, but in Kanawha City at the Kanawha City Piggly Wiggly they always had a really good craft beer section (by WV standards). ...not really on your way though...

Heading on 68 west, but looking to stock up on beers to bring home. Figured someplace between Morgantown and 'nam would have a bunch at some sort of party store. I already knew Preston County doesn't carry anything but Natti light.

Gotcha. I’ve driven that route many times visiting Harrisburg. Weather up over Frostberg mountains is always weird.

Surely there’s somewhere good in Fayetteville…or have they given up on craft beers and are solely smoking pot there now as their vice of choice?

Here's one in Clarksburg:

Deep Creek is @45 mile one way out of your way but the liquor store there has a nice selection of craft beers. you could hit up the honi honi at Uno's for lunch to make the trip even more worthwhile.

Got damn, ole Ralph gots the Colt 45. I'll be able to take a dump through the spaghetti strainer if I have 17 of them.

Biggest selection outside of Pittsburgh. Was just there last weekend:

That's downtown close to the stadium, isn't it? Would probably take me 30 minutes out of the way, but beer is beer, or so I've heard.
Not really that far out of the way.

If they're out of Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company Mothman black IPA, apologies.

I literally bought the entire store's supply last Friday.

I either missed the headline or completely forgot about that. I think @Raoul Duke MU said he once saw a group of black dudes pulled over right in front of one of those signs.

Scored big earlier. Got a case of one of my favorites, The Truth, by Rheingist. Also grabbed a 12 of Devil Anse, a 12 of Mothman, and a 12 of Country Boy. Should get me through today.

I also watched the game last night with the new sheriff of Fayette County and a former WVU DB, Tim Newsome of Mt Hope fame. I'm now more popular than rifle. Sheriff and a big black dude and me. Great crowd.

If you ever get to Cincinnati go visit that brewery. Cool venue, lots of space, good rooftop.

I did.

Maryland, Ohio, Virginia: states that I will not speed in.
those damn cameras.

in maryland, going under an overpass on 495, boat in tow, 4 a.m., between 85 and 90 mph, entire interstate lit up behind us to the point it was like a huge bolt of lightning struck. only thing that saved my ass on that one was i assume the boat blocked the license plate on the truck and the license plate on the boat trailer was folded back under a bit and hidden by the boat.

virginia has rang me up a couple times, a couple times with boat in tow and pulled over by an officer around 2:30 a.m. and let go, and a couple more times i've been nailed by cameras, although not for speeding but for running the ezpass lanes without an ezpass. sometimes on 66 it's worth it to pay the fine for no ezpass just to get around the mess, but not with a boat. the one with the boat in tow cost me around $175.

Years ago in Kentucky one of these lit me up on the Bluegrass Parkway in the middle of the night. I was going about 90-100 because I was the only car in sight. It damn near made me wreck it startled me so bad. Oddly I never received a citation, I'm not sure why.

I guess it's a state by state thing? Around 10-15 years ago I got caught on a camera (?maybe a red light camera?) and the fine was basically optional as it was coming from a third party with no enforcement mechanism other than some "threat" to contact my insurer if I didn't pay.

I’ve noticed that my new vehicle keeps tabs on my driving habits. I get a report ever so often and it tells me I can request the information be sent to my insurer. I’d like to find out how to turn that off.

Ohhh, Doc. I am concerned about you. If you get an email from a Nigerian prince, ignore it. If you get an email similar to the one I have received numerous times per year for the past eight years, ignore it. They don't have any videos of you jerking it.

Your speed/red light camera is a similar scam: "We have video evidence of you running a red light, and we are going to send it to your insurer so your rates go up $50 per month. But if you send us $200, we will not contact them." Bogus. 100% bullshit.

Do you know how easy it is to get the make/model/color of your car, photoshop that same vehicle at a major intersection in your area, and claim it is picture evidence of you breaking the law, so you better pay this random company? Mass mail those out, and I assure you that 3% - 10% of people who receive that professional looking letter will send that $200 payment.

I almost paid it. I’m sure you’re right - lots of people pay it.

Imagine being a geriatric without the internet though.

I blame the state for letting them do this though. They get a cut I’m sure.

I immediately delete any email and hang up on any caller I suspect of being a fraud. I am going to have to start listening to phone calls more carefully. I twice hung up on my dental hygienist who was trying to schedule my cleaning appointment. I didn’t recognize her voice.

Is your license suspended in those states?
No, of course not. Why would it be, I don't speed in those states.

And really I don't speed much anymore. I'll run 5 mph over. There's considerably more traffic on the highways these days verses 30 years ago, and a lot of people have their face in their phone while driving on the interstate. It's just not safe.

And five over out here is still pretty quick. Two lane highways, the speed limit is 70. Four lanes? 75.

No, of course not. Why would it be, I don't speed in those states.
It would be a good reason not to speed on those states. Years ago, my brother was not sure if his license/driving privileges had been reinstated in NY, so I drove the entire stretch of 81 in that state when we were driving to Montreal.

I would not drive if I wasn't sure if my license was suspended. It's not worth the risk.

I don't speed in states with heavy enforcement, period. Or in other states on highways with known heavy enforcement. Don't speed on I-65 in a Indiana. Do speed on I-64 in Kentucky outside of Louisville and Lexington. I-45 in Texas, do 100 or you will get ran over.

yearrrrrs ago, i lost my license for 30 days. for 30 damn days, imagine that. why even take them? i never stopped driving, just stopped doing stupid shit for a while.

had them unknowingly suspended back in 1995/6/7. i had sold a vehicle to someone who turned around and resold it without sending in the title to have it transferred in their name. they sold it to another person who subsequently crashed the vehicle without insurance on it and they had never sent the title to the DMV either, so it was still in my name.

i found out while laying on a gurney in an emergency room in lexington, va, after falling asleep at the wheel driving back from florida at like 7 a.m. cop told me i my DL had been suspended.
