Defensive graduate assistant coach Joel Elliott, who was a defensive GA in 2018 and a quality control assistant on special teams and defense in 2017, has left the program to become a graduate assistant at Memphis.

Please don't let Samantha see this post, as he will go apeshit that a coach left Marshall for the same position in THE AMERICAN!!!

Wow! The sky is falling! We're losing a GA who is going to another D1 program to become a . . . . . . . GA!! Wonder how often this occurs throughout a year?

Seriously, I believe we lost a position coach earlier this year to Memphis. Sounds like he helped find a slot there for this GA from MU.

Interestingly enough not only did Adam Fuller take Elliott with him to Memphis but he also took former Herd player and Grad Assistant Cortez Carter who spent last year at D-2 Lock Haven as the DB coach & Special Teams Coordinator as a Defensive Grad Assistant, too.

If MU has serious problems in its football program, including not winning enough, apparently, in the last 15 years, which includes about 5 seasons prior to Doc's arrival, well certainly the departure of a GA is not one of them.

So if anyone thinks they have the answers and ability to help remedy whatever ails MU football, let them apply for a job in the program. Including the original poster whom we all know is a recognized "genius" in football coaching world and, at least in his own mind, the established one, true fountainhead of all knowledge and aspects of the game!!

Since the discussion of C-USA vs. the AAC has been regularly disputed on here, the fact that two Marshall coaches have left for an AAC school is even more relevant to this board.
