A little late to this thread, but I saw where some people were pinning this loss on DD. I watched the whole game..

1) They were obviously much more talented than us, and that was clear from the beginning, but the offense and our style of play got us the big lead.. BUT we clearly were lacking Tennessee's size and they started just outright attacking the basket.
2) Once Tennessee started their run, calls started going their way too.
3) If any Marshall fan truly expected us to just run away with this one outright on the road, you're expectations are wayyy too high.

Some people were marking this season's grave when we lost to Newberry, but this team came out against a major college basketball team on the road and looked pretty damn competitive for most of the game. Honestly, that's the most we can ask for right now. Yes, we don't have all the talent in the world right now, but from what I can see, this is progress from last year and the year before that.

Well, it's not Thanksgiving yet, so I have no idea how good the SEC might be this year. Nor is your source the be-all end-all. I stand by my statement as to the SEC's past. It's traditionally not a very good hoops league. The operative word there is "traditionally." Note that I did insert a qualifier that there are years that are exceptions. Maybe this is one of those years. But it's way too early to tell.

Thundercat greenduke did pick Uk to beat Duke and it was no sour grapes. He has blasted the sec long before the duke ky game. I totally disagree with him but he will say that if they get 8 teams in the ncaa tourney. He hates Ky like some ky fans hate duke. I am not a hater. It makes you say stupid things and I dont have to be mad to do that. Last night at the Ky game I kept thinking of how much money fans spend. Lexington has alot of people who have plenty of money and they spend it on Kentucky. Things are so good there only an idiot would think Ky would have to pay a player. Other way around maybe. Those boys are rock stars.
