Don't mind them, they're just flinging shit to the wall in hopes that something will stick. UH has much more control of the Houston market than they want to believe, many surveys of Houston sports fans have already proven that. Houston has over 41,000 students whereas rice has a little over 6,000. Houston has over 260,000 alumni in Texas.. Rice doesn't even come close.. That being said, you would receive more people tuning in to watch Houston v Marshall, than Rice v Marshall. Having a large Texas University would bring more money to your conference, and make you (Marshall) more relevant in that state, which would do wonders for your recruiting.
