They're illegal in California, as Andy statedd. The two rifles were a DPMS .223 and a S&W MP .223. Very common AR's. The serial numbers will be ran and we'll eventually know for sure but most criminals get these types of weapons by theft. The damn rifles could have come from Huntington and traded hands until they ended up in CA. Whatever the case, they were obtained and owned illegally in CA.
