McManus declares, Clarke considering draft

Not on the field. He was a slow footed stone heads. Quit being fukin stupid he cant catch. Being black doesnt make u good herd toby fever

Dude is a beast..i think he should bulk up some and be a lb but hes not fast enough in his current spot. Not quick enough either. Does NOT run a 4.4. I think he is an athlete just not sure where. Bulk up tight end again? Didnt he start as a light TE?

Being a good person and a beast in the weightroom doesnt mean youre a good football player. He was an average player on a crappy team in a shitty conference. That doesnt equate to being a draft pick.

Everyone discussing why/why not McManus and Clark should or should not declare. It is their choice - not ours. Focus should be on the state of our coaching staff which we have seen zero changes. To me - can't say what the rest of you feel - zero staff changes equates to zero improvement this year. Same vanilla offense that none of our opponents even need to scout. You will see Litton (Leggs boy) in the shotgun clapping his hands with the defense chomping at the bit to blitz. Forget McManus and Clark. It's their lives and choices.

McManus can play in the league period! He has won a league championship, (2) bowl games, earned a degree, so why come back. His resume is solid. The visiting corner of the end zone should be named McManusville for his CUSA game winning championship catch from Cato. You will be a Son of Marshall forever! Me and the rest of the broke posters will be on here while you go to the NFL and make your money. Good luck young man, God Bless and it fun watching you play for the Herd!
Team accomplishments don't mean you can play in the NFL. A lot of guys on those teams won a league championship and two bowl games. That doesn't mean anything.

Not sure what playing or not playing football has to do with anything since a blind man could see what is wrong with our team and why mcm prob won't get drafted. One thing though....i will agree some armchair coaches exist. The off the chart ones are the ones who annoy me. Kool aid drinkers annoy me more. If he gets drafted im stoked for him. I wish most of these guys focused more on education though. We have several very successful ex players but many who struggle. Some go into sales..which can be up and down. Got off on a tangent

McManus has his degree, so I guess he also focused on his education

mcmanus has strong skills, and is a beast of a blocker - his hit on the northern illinois player in bowl game is top 5 by a receiver i've seen....and the kid has good hands, good leaping ability....will be a special teams monster in nfl if nothing else

I've always liked him as a linebacker as opposed to being a WR, TE, or even an H Back. I think he can be converted to defense in the NFL with his size, speed, and strength

Exactly, NFL scouts know what they're doing. Look at how many kids enter the NFL as a QB, safety, corner, etc and they are never used as such from day one in the NFL. Hell Belichick (sp?) with New England reels in players nobody ever even heard of and makes stars out of them.

jesus. No one was claiming he would be drafted. You realize you can make an NFL team without being drafted?

Outside of Pennington, leftwich and moss.....not many of the herd players who made it to the league over the years were actually drafted....

McManus has been as good as bill legg has let him be... when you can only run a 5 and curl you don't get to show off many times.. he could do very well in combines and I do wish him well, and I'm glad legg has lost talent. hope every player refuses to play for legg just like the last game of the season..... tony Petersen was a better answer then legg and doc let him walk away, should have offered him the OC .....

licious my BA is regents. Nothing wrong with that. You still need to do some kind of focus area and 40+ hours have to be upper division 300/400 level courses. Granted he could have found all the just really easy courses, but does mean he had to. I focused on the area where I was going to get a MS degree and had enough credits in 2 discplines for 2 declared majors in they were allowed in the RBA program.

also, they must have changed the rules for being accepted into the RBA program as someone his age would not have qualified back in the 90S.

Barber....

McManus has been nothing but carried himself as a professional since he step foot on campus
I agree Fever. He stopped by our tailgate after most if not all of his games at Marshall and signed autographs for all of the kids. He was great to be around. Doesn't make him a NFL player but I wish him the best in life no matter what path he takes.

Moss could get open in anywhere, anytime. I get what you are saying and agree, but Moss isn't they guy to use. He could still play if he wanted to.

McManus imo has a better chance at making a roster than Clark. I wish both of them luck. The NFL is all about measurables, it doesn't matter your stats, your team's W/L or your accomplishments. Look at a lot of current and former WR's who have found success that didn't come from elite schools, and/or who were drafted in late rounds. Hopefully they both find a home in the league and represent Marshall.

How do you mean New England's offense begs to differ? Most of their playmakers weren't anything spectacular in college. So it would coincide with what I said about measurables taking priority over collegiate wins and losses

Actually no it doesn't. The Patriot receivers are generally undersized and "slow", not to mention white. All measurables, which you stated is what the NFL is all about.

The white card holds no barring in all honesty. I personally think Belicheck has a different set of "measurables" than other NFL franchises. He sees something, even if it's just one skill set that jumps off at him, some element that player possesses that can increase one aspect of his game plan and he will take a chance on those players. So yea, I can see what you are saying about New England.
