Some things Trump is doing are ticking me off.

Abundance of tariffs.

I get why he is doing it. I am definitely questioning the timing. Inflation is at a 40-year high, and the deficit is at an all-time high.
The timing couldn't be worse. I get you have to start sometime, and Trump is a one-term President. But, the American consumer is just
going to have to pay more in the long run, and it's not short-term temporary. Takes time for companies to tool up and take the replacement of offshore companies. You just don't start making IC's overnight.

Tik-Tok

Congress passed a ban. Trump extended it (which is fine). He should let it expire. The deadline has been extended two times, and China does not want to sell. Allowing the Chinese to continue collecting data, just because Trump feels it helped him win the election is ridiculous. He feels comfortable making Americans pay more for products via inflation, tariffs; but China gets a break. F That

Canada

I agree we have given them many breaks when it comes to one-sided tariffs. This 51st state crap is flat-out ridiculous.
Most Americans don't even want territories like PR or Guam to be a state. Now, Canada? Leave it alone.

Trump's infatuation with Powerful people

Birds of a feather flock, I get it. But Putin, Kim Jong Un, and the King of England? You have to look no further as to why they
are all very rich people. Putin and Kim by stealing from their respective countries and Charles by the way of a Nut. Not very
admirable in my book. This infatuation of dictators needs to go by the wayside. Especially, the dodgy and questionable ones.

The Canada stuff is trash talk. Making them step up. They have free loaded too long. We dint really want them.

Tariffs will hurt short term but will help long term. Be patient. The Chinese are burying us. We imported 438 billion in goods from China alone. Your state is dependent on 23% of its ma imports from China. The United States is a at 13.4 percent.

We won't have a country left if we don't change some of it. We will be subservient consumers. You know like Europe is. Remember German gas from Russia? Still buying it by the way.

We have to change.

I don't like Tik Tok

Lets wait until everything is OK and then do it...right? Of course, there would be no incentive if everything was "ok". Maybe we shouldn't have championed "free trade" for decades and this wouldn't have been necessary. Time to take our medicine.
Who gives a shit.
Trump's infatuation with Powerful people
Imagine that. A president that actually talks and interacts with the world's other powerful leaders. You forgot France, Qatar, Ireland, South America, Africa, Japan, India....( I dont need to go on)

Maybe we should bring back Mush Brain and let him sit on a beach chair in Rehoboth every weekend.

Boy, you like making stipulations whereas none was said.

Maybe, but now is not the time when inflation is already at a 40 year high.

"Who gives a shit."
Apperently, Trump does he keeps talking about it. It is unnecessary.

"Maybe we should bring back Mush Brain and let him sit on a beach chair in Rehoboth every weekend."

Didn't say that.

That's their job. Infatuation is not.

What? You introduced the stipulations. I countered.

We get it. You want your cake and eat it too when it comes to tariffs. There will never be a good time for tariffs. EVER. Time to take our medicine.

Canada? Who cares?? Apparently, you do. You complained about it.

Infatuation. Maybe that's your impression. How are powerful people supposed to look and appear less "infatuated"? 😂

Your a bigger dork than I thought you were. My Bad.

First, inflation is not at a 40 year high. Do you not remember that only a few years ago it was over 8%? That was a 40 year high.

On to the meat - we have been kicking the can down the road since the 1950s on trade. After WWII, and especially after the fall of the USSR, we were the unquestioned economic and military superpower of the world. Usain Bolt versus white, middle school, girls in a 100 meter race type lead. Our debt to GDP in 1980 was 31%.

Given those circumstances, it made sense to cut unfavorable deals all over the planet. Give our allies the opportunity to rebuild their countries, give developing nations an easier path to economic prosperity. It was good for security and peace around the world.

While our allies were rebuilding under this concession from the US we provided them with protection. Surely they would use this act of generosity by the American people to rebuild their defenses and reestablish independence. But no, they instead used our kindness to build far flung socialist programs to heap benefits upon their citizens. Programs they could only pay for because we gave them trade advantages and defended them. They then turn around and ridicule us for not providing these same benefits to our citizens.

Well, this isn’t 1980 anymore. Our debt to GDP is over 120% while all our allies (except Japan) are burdened by far lower debt. This is because we have subsidized Europe for 80 years. We can not afford to do it any longer, not even for one more year. You can attribute well over half, if not all, of our national debt to our support of other countries and it has to end. Today.

It will cause short term, 3-5 years, of some pain, but the alternative is far worse. Trump is the right person at the right time to fix it, specifically because he doesn’t have to worry about another term and has a group of people smart enough and committed enough to pull it off.
