My goodness. Are we really going down the path of believing next year (in basketball) will be any different than this year or any other year? I hear "next year" from one-and-done level fans, mostly UK around here, because following HS and AAU basketball and speculating how next year's team will do against other one-and-done level teams, has become a part of fandom at that level. And, strangely, my Spamite friends are going "next year" on me, supposedly some kid up there is some five star, which his silly, of course, but I guess he could be a solid second tier player, which is fine at their level.

But us? Since when do we have the right to go "next year" on anyone? By what measure does anyone think that next year, or any year, will be any different from this year, or any past year?
