On to Charlotte.......

Expected The Herd to stumble at ODU (67-50).....but Saturday, I believe the coaches & guys will finish strong in front of many Marshall supporters when visiting the Charlotte 49ers. Charlotte's team is very unpredictable and a victory will enable The Herd to enter the C-USA tournament on a positive note.

The Herd took an early first half lead, 20--10, however, the Charlotte 49ers rallied to take a 37-32 halftime lead. Charlotte employed a full court press in the second half and turned The Herd over too much. Final score was 86--73, giving the 49ers the same conference record as Marshall at 7-11. Charlotte earns a higher seed by sweeping the season series.

Good to visit was Tamar Slay after the game. He has retired from pro basketball and he is running teaching clinics in both Charlotte & Beckley. Would love to see Slay become a high school coach in Charlotte.

For The Herd...it's on to Birmingham to start tournament play Wednesday.
