According to his family, Connor Sebastian, 31, of Winston-Salem, was one of the three patrons who became "violently ill" after drinking beer that was mixed with chemicals at Burke Street Pub.

I presume he was already intoxicated so couldn’t taste it and/or was drinking some high gravity (?super hoppy?) beer where it masked off flavors?

My old company, housekeeper left cleaning fluid in a pitcher. Server thought it was juice, served it to seniors who were cognitively impaired. Three ended up very sick and 1-2 passed.

It was terrible. Company admitted the error but I left the company before they settled so not sure what came of it. Both employees were termed of course. Negligence by both of them.

My grandma was a cook for the county jail. She heard stories where the inmates stole Lysol and filtered it through bread and drank it. Obviously that’s voluntary cause you needing a buzz, but still a WTF moment.

Weird they weren’t using star-San, which is the most common cleaner used in lines and is also safe to drink. Maybe not pleasant but it won’t kill you.
