Marshall's running backs coach last year, Pepe Pearson, has landed at Tennessee State under new head coach Eddie George (a fellow former Ohio State running back). Former Marshall receivers coach, Dallas Baker, is still looking to land somewhere.

After a coaching career exclusively in college football, Urban Meyer came out of retirement Jan. 14 to take over the Jacksonville Jaguars. As a first-time NFL head coach, Meyer's transition remains to be seen, but Dallas Baker is among the former players who believe the former Florida (2005-10) and Ohio State (2012-18) leader can make a successful move up, explaining why this past Friday via ESPN's Michael DiRocco.

"As far as him motivating guys, he's not going to have a problem," said Baker, a former Gators (2003-06) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2007-09) wide receiver, who spent the past four years as Marshall's wide receivers coach. "He was a college coach who ran his program like the NFL

Baker is actually back at Florida in an off-field role. My understanding is he would take an on field position in a second if an offer comes along. Cornell Brown is also still looking to land somewhere.

With the football program, in what role, and since when? A full-time coach there has never seen or heard of him being there.

Interesting...I was told by a full time coach not at Florida that Baker was working there as a recruiting assistant. I could be wrong.

It could be possible, especially if it was pretty recent. With the SEC staffs, there are a bunch of support that make it hard to recognize or know everybody within a short amount of time.
