A 6-year-old boy was killed and his father critically wounded after marshals for the central Louisiana city of Marksville fired at their vehicle as the father was trying to flee, officials said Wednesday. Coroner L. J. Mayeux of Avoyelles Parish identified the driver as Chris Few and his son as Jeremy Mardis, a first grader, who died from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest. Dr. Mayeux said city marshals were chasing Mr. Few on Tuesday night after he fled an attempt to serve a warrant.

I want to know what the warrant was for.

i agree. the fact they haven't mentioned it yet makes me think it was something relatively petty.

that said, i don't think the father is free of fault here (nor is he fully at fault), but there's no reason to run, especially with your child in the car. i noticed dherd left out the fact that he wasn't only fleeing, but he hit a dead end and was backing into the marshals, reports are he hit a police/marshal vehicle with them inside of it.

but again, i want to know the full story of what kind of warrant, etc. i'm highly suspect that there was a need for lethal force in this situation, but at the same time, if you're a parent and you have a young child in the car, don't do anything to potentially put that kid in danger.

Ummm the dude pulled into a blocked alley and then started reversing towards the police. He was not exactly fleeing at that point. Good try leaving that part out you liberal scum bag.

actually, the reports now are he wasn't reversing towards them.

On Thursday, Colonel Michael Edmonson, head of the Louisiana state police, denied earlier reports that Few had been reversing his car toward the officers, who then had to defend themselves. “No. I didn’t say that,” he told the Guardian. “That didn’t come from me.”

starting to look more and more like an overzealous city marshal, but i'll wait until more of the story comes out before deciding any further...

Tragic regardless if it was a justified shooting or not. And by the way what fvcked up dad with his 6 year old in the car doesn't just stop.

It's early. But some reports state there was no pending warrant for Few, that he didn't reverse toward the officers, no warrant was in the law enforcement vehicles, Few had no gun, there was no exchange of gunfire, and that there was some history between Few and one of those "serving the warrant".

why do cons always lurch to the defense of the criminals while blaming the victims.
time to start executing corrupt cops and prosecutors. that will stop some of this crap.

The same reason you always support people like Michael brown

Conservative philosophy regarding law enforcement officials and their guns: if you got guns, use them.

Agreed on keeping the guns holstered. We need all the facts. I'm not siding with the cops until I get all the facts.
