So I have a family or two of raccoons nearly every night that come in my pool on the tanning ledge. I have locked up the trash and they still come. Now one took a shit in it last night. Disgusting.

Do I hire an exterminator or what? What’s the play here?

What's not to like?

Personally, I would trap them and relocate them.

Dude…you’re from Hurricane, the coon hunting capital of the world. Surely you know a local here (Rt 60 side of town, of course) who can give you some advice.

I would say take them to the zoo, but considering how they are dressed, they might like the beach better.

We had a problem with coons in the pool but, the HOA told me they couldn't do anything about it.

Make sure you don't have any pet food out there. They are probably using it as a water source. Exterminator won't likely deal with it. You will have to get a company that traps them or trap their yourself. Or shoot them. But, just be aware they are mean bastards when they get trapped. They can rip you up.

If Greed were still here, he could tell you how he keeps the coons away from his property. Apparently he’s an expert repelling coons.
Board King, MichiganHerd, banned him and has no plans of bringing him back.

Or so I heard.

Had the same issue a few years ago. Raccoons like to wash their food so pools are convenient. If you left some scraps out there and they found it, they’ll come back for a week or two hoping for a nugget. They eventually give up. They love cat food so if you have an outdoor cat, don’t feed it near the pool.

If your non-pool owning neighbors are leaving out food or open trash cans, they will cause you problems too.

I’m going to be diligent about locking up the trash and I also bought a trap off Amazon.

Hope i don’t get rabies.
