Once again, no one is arguing that everyone should make the same wage. I'm saying everyone that's willing to work and hold down a job is worth more than $7.25 an hour. If you can't pay more than that when everyone else has to, close the business.
That's a big difference. And Forbes or anyone is not going to convince anyone who thinks about it that paying a higher minimum wage won't help those who make the minimum wage.
well actually you did and once again changed the subject. Neither did I say that a slight increase is wrong. We don't agree on the amount of the increase. I do believe that different skill sets deserve different pay.
Where in this country does a Teacher make 35k a year?? Maybe the argument should be that teachers should demand higher pay or they need to find a new occupation. Too much greed and too much blind people who accepts the greed as a way of life. This is America and the poverty levels shouldn't be as high or close to some third world countries.
And not everyone is looking for a handout. Some people can't legitimately find work that pays a decent living. You guys think it's easy for people to just get up go to school, go to trade school, afford to pay for it and all is solved. Maybe for you but you aren't everyone.
What about that person that made a stupid decision when they was 16-17, got charged a felony served 2 years and are now in their 30s and can't find work because of something that happened a decade ago. They want to go straight but the only place willing to hire them pays them $8/hr. Do you think that's fair. Do you think it's fair people in the military get paid LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE??
I don't agree that the minimum wage should be $15/hr but it should be at least $11.50 with a gradual raise every year of $.35
But this is how ****ed up and greedy American Corporations are. It's either raise the minimum wage and watch corporations either cut hours or even ship jobs overseas or not raise the minimum wage and continue to watch Americans suffer or resort to illegal means to make money to survive
You do realize Forbes would side with Big business and the 1% crowd who is against raising the minimum wage.
Plus the cost of everything in America is going up. Rent, Utilities, clothes, food, childcare, taxes, even entertainment.

Maybe the guy getting paid $8 should go get a higher paying job....you know...like the same advice you gave the teachers.
