Was hoping to get to get John Felderbush or Hugh Juggs or someone like that to chime in here.

I typically have some of my portfolio in an assett not classically associated with the market. Typically I've done that with private syndication multi family real estate deals or real estate lending funds.

I came across royaltyexchange.com and I don't fully grasp a lot of this, but basically you can buy shares of music or movie royalties. Recently a big chunk of the movie (a producer's share) of Trading Places was sold for around 145K, which seemed ridiculously high because that same share had produced less than 10K/year in royalties over the past 10 years. With that said, it was a lifetime share, but that's typically not a great investment.

In addition, the fees are really high on transactions and I *think* it costs $4,500 to just bid. For a Boglehead kind of a investor like me that's hard to handle.

Anyone have any input or experience here?
