Good for you......you should be applauded for your work with and for disadvantaged youth.....Again, the problem is you're in the minority. Too few businesses are willing to donate time and money......Hell.....Extragreen is perfect example of that, what's up with him.
I serve on the Board of a National non-profit that supports disadvantaged youth, mostly in the inner city. We have lost all of our Federal Funding and now rely on State and local grants, as well as the generosity of individuals. Problem is, we're competing against many, many other non-profits that also receive no funding.
Feds would rather build another prison or "rebuild" our military.

I'm a firm believer that you should work for your assistance.....If you're able bodied, we've got plenty of trash that needs picked up, blighted areas that could be demo'd, and parks & playgrounds that should be sparkling.
